COVID-19 Vaccination Center at QNCC Succeeded to Vaccinate over 650,000 People

Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) announced that the national mass COVID-19 vaccination center at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) which closed on June 29, had achieved its goal of administering over 650,000 vaccines to the eligible population of Qatar.

The Mass Vaccination Campaign project at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) started on February 18, 2021 with the aim to maximize the vaccine administration capacity in Qatar and immunize a wider population efficiently and quickly. The education sector cohort being the priority group, and achieved 70% vaccination of both doses for teaching, non-teaching staff and eligible students.

“PHCC proudly undertook this project with support from leadership, the collective effort to effectively, and efficiently, reach out to the community and successfully administer many vaccines during this period has been extraordinary. Our teams have worked hard to deliver to the vaccines to the most vulnerable in our communities. Thank you to everyone who has worked to support the project and to the public for their continued support and understanding,” said Dr. Mariam Abdul Malik, Managing Director of PHCC.

For her part, Executive Director of Operations at PHCC Dr. Samya Al Abdullah said: “We are immensely proud of the effort and dedication to keeping our communitys safe ad protected, by offering support and encouragement to help promote and deliver the COVID vaccination to our communities at the QNCC. The QNCC vaccination center has played a core part in the success of the vaccine campaign in Qatar, providing an efficient, accessible service to all.

Project Director at PHCC Dr. Yasmin Ali Morad said: “This was a high complex and mega-size project that required well project planning, implementation of clear and robust systems and processes and continues monitoring and improvement.

She explained that the requirements were dynamic, the change management and agility were one of key success factor. More than 35 different teams, comprising of more than 1000 staff (400 administrative team members including core project team, technical support team, customer service and external teams of volunteers, security and MOI and more than 600 clinical team members including nurses, lab technicians/technologist, physicians, pharmacists and EMS on daily basis had to be coordinated well and communication was key to ensure success not only within the team but also with other stakeholders and other vaccination centers to ensure overall success.

Teams were dedicated to success with the proof of being able to administer more than 9,000 vaccination doses in a day through one center only.

PHCC noted that the clients who received their first dose at QNCC, their second dose appointments will be scheduled soon.

الدوحة: أعلنت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية أن المركز الوطني للتطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) بمركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات الذي تم انتهاء العمل فيه يوم 29 يونيو الماضي نجح في تحقيق هدفه المتمثل في تطعيم أكثر من 650 ألف فرد من الفئة السكانية المؤهلة للتطعيم.

وكانت حملة التطعيم ضد فيروس (كوفيد-19) في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات قد بدأت في 18 فبراير الماضي بهدف زيادة القدرة الاستيعابية لإعطاء اللقاح في دولة قطر وتحصين أكبر عدد ممكن من السكان بكفاءة وسرعة، حيث كانت فئة قطاع التعليم هي الفئة ذات الأولوية بتحقيق نسبة تطعيم قدرها 70 لكلا الجرعتين للمعلمين وموظفي المدارس والطلاب المؤهلين.

وقالت الدكتورة مريم عبدالملك مدير عام مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية إن الجهد الجماعي لتوعية المجتمع بفعالية وكفاءة وإدارة العديد من اللقاحات بنجاح خلال هذه الفترة كان استثنائيا وتم العمل بجد لإيصال اللقاحات إلى الفئات الأكثر عرضة للخطر في المجتمع.

بدورها، قالت الدكتورة سامية العبدالله المدير التنفيذي لإدارة التشغيل بمؤسسة الرعاية الأولية “نحن فخورون للغاية بالجهود المكرسة للحفاظ على سلامة مجتمعنا وحمايته من خلال تقديم الدعم والتشجيع على المساعدة في تعزيز وتقديم لقاحات (كوفيد-19) لمجتمعنا، حيث لعب مركز التطعيم في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات دورا أساسيا في نجاح حملة التطعيم في قطر بتقديمه خدمة فعالة ومتاحة للجميع”.

من جهتها، قالت الدكتورة ياسمين علي مراد مديرة مشروع حملة التطعيم ضد فيروس (كوفيد-19) في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات بمؤسسة الرعاية الأولية، إن مشروع التطعيم في المركز كان ضخما وتطلب تخطيطا جيدا وتنفيذا متقنا من خلال إنشاء أنظمة وعمليات واضحة وقوية مع مواصلة الرصد والتحسين المستمر.

وأضافت أنه تم التنسيق والعمل مع 35 فريقا مختلفا ضم أكثر من 1000 موظف وموظفة و400 عضو إداري تضمن فريق المشروع الأساسي، وفريق الدعم الفني، وخدمة العملاء، والفرق الخارجية من المتطوعين وأفراد الأمن والشرطة وأكثر من 600 عضو إكلينيكي يشمل الكادر التمريضي، بالإضافة إلى فنيي المختبرات، والأطباء، والصيادلة وخدمات الإسعاف.

وكان مركز التطعيم بمركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات قد نجح في إعطاء أكثر من 9000 جرعة تطعيم في اليوم الواحد.

وأوضحت مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية أن الأشخاص الذين حصلوا حاليا على الجرعة الأولى من اللقاح في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات قبل إغلاقه سيتم تحديد مواعيد الجرعة الثانية لهم قريبا.
