Trucks turn both sides of Muaither Road to parking lots

Doha: Citizens complained about truck drivers continuing to park on both sides of the road from the Western Industrial Street Bridge on Salwa Road to the roundabout known as the “plastic” roundabout in Muaither, threatening the lives of road users, stressing that the phenomenon of exploiting space adjacent to the main streets as parking spaces for trucks and mechanical equipment calls for the intervention of several entities such as the Traffic Department, the Ministry of Municipality and environment to reduce them.
They called on the General Directorate of Traffic in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to launch a joint campaign to violate trucks parked on Muaither Road and to oblige them to pay a fine for exploiting that area in this way and transporting them to the places that have been allocated to book the offending vehicles.
Citizens called for the activation of Law No. 5 of 2010, which prohibits trucks, tractors and trailers from parking in unauthorized places in order to preserve the lives of residents and infrastructure from damage caused by drivers deliberately exploiting space in residential neighborhoods as parking spaces for their trucks.

الدوحة: اشتكى مُواطنون من مُواصلة سائقي الشاحنات الوقوف على جانبي الطريق المُمتد من جسر شارع الصناعية الغربية على طريق سلوى إلى الدوار المعروف بدوار «البلاستيك» في معيذر، ما يُهدّد أرواح مُستخدمي الطريق مُؤكدين أن ظاهرة استغلال المساحات الفضاء المُجاورة للشوارع الرئيسية كمواقف للشاحنات والمعدات الميكانيكية تستدعي تدخل عدة جهات مثل إدارة المرور ووزارة البلدية والبيئة للحد منها.
وطالبوا الإدارة العامة للمرور بالتعاون مع وزارة البلدية والبيئة بإطلاق حملة مُشتركة لمُخالفة الشاحنات المُتوقفة على طريق معيذر وإلزامهم بدفع غرامة مالية لاستغلالهم تلك المساحة بهذه الصورة ونقلها إلى الأماكن التي تم تخصيصها لحجز المركبات المُخالفة.
ودعا المُواطنون لتفعيل قانون رقم (5) لسنة 2010 الذي يحظر وقوف الشاحنات والجرّارات والمقطورات في غير الأماكن المُصرّح بالوقوف فيها بهدف الحفاظ على حياة السكان والبنية التحتية من التلف التي تتعرّض لها بسبب تعمّد السائقين استغلال المساحات الفضاء وسط الأحياء السكنية كمواقف لشاحناتهم.
