QNTC: Introducing new electronic programs to develop the performance of the sector

Doha: The National Tourism Council has launched the e-learning program as part of a more comprehensive initiative to develop the capabilities and performance of the tourism sector in Qatar, by providing training through the LinkedIn educational platform in a variety of topics, including project management, business writing and presentations, as well as the presentation of the National Tourism Council’s “Excellence in Service” program, which aims to establish Qatar as a global tourist destination characterized by the quality of hospitality services it provides to its visitors during each stage of their visit to Qatar. Ms. Denisa Spinkova, who is in charge of the National Tourism Council’s “Excellence in Service” team, hosted a seminar on this initiative by providing an overview of strategic imperatives and how to move forward.

Ms. Spinkova has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality, aviation and tourism industry, providing a detailed presentation on the “Excellence in Service” program, which aims to provide an unparalleled world-leading tourism experience by collaborating with all partners and contributing to making Qatar the perfect tourist destination for visitors.

In addition to training, the National Tourism Council provides employees with the possibility to participate in the “Knowledge Dialogue Series” through the e-learning program, as well as the possibility to participate in virtual conferences and seminars. The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs is also participating in the e-learning program by implementing training courses and providing academic grants to Qatari employees to complete bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees funded by Qatar.

Over the past year, the National Tourism Council has prioritized training and education programmes, with residents in Qatar receiving 25 scholarships from the World Tourism Organization’s Tourism Online Academy in collaboration with IE International University, noting the role of the National Tourism Council as the founding sponsor of the Digital Tourism Academy. The e-learning programme has enabled and enhanced the skills of those interested in the tourism sector in tourism management and has helped them advance their careers.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to build the sector’s capacity during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The national tourism council’s mission is to establish Qatar’s position on the global tourism map as a leading destination where the authenticity of the past and the modernity of the present blend, and which the peoples of the world aim to explore their attractions in the fields of culture, sports, business and family entertainment.

The National Tourism Council is based on the national tourism sector strategy, which aims to diversify Qatari tourism products and boost tourism spending in the country. Since the launch of the first phase of the strategy, Qatar has received more than 14 million visitors and strengthened the role of tourism in the national economy as one of its supporting tributaries, with tourism since 2017 being a priority sector in the country’s efforts to diversify the economy and revitalize the private sector.

الدوحة: أطلق المجلس الوطني للسياحة برنامج التعلم الإلكتروني كجزء من مبادرة أشمل لتطوير قدرات وأداء قطاع السياحة في الدولة، من خلال تقديم التدريب عبر منصة “لينكد إن” التعليمية في العديد من الموضوعات، منها إدارة المشاريع، والكتابة في مجال الأعمال، والعروض التقديمية، إضافة إلى تقديم برنامج “التميز في الخدمة” الذي أطلقه المجلس الوطني للسياحة، والذي يهدف إلى ترسيخ مكانة قطر كوجهة سياحية عالمية تتميز بجودة خدمات الضيافة التي تقدمها لزوارها خلال كل مرحلة من مراحل زيارتهم إلى قطر. وقد استضافت السيدة دينيسا سبينكوفا، التي تتولى مسؤولية فريق برنامج “التميز في الخدمة” في المجلس الوطني للسياحة، ندوة حول هذه المبادرة عبر تقديم لمحة عامة حول الضرورات الاستراتيجية وكيفية المضي قدما.

وتمتلك السيدة سبينكوفا خبرة تزيد على العشرين عاماً في مجال صناعة الضيافة والطيران والسياحة، حيث قدمت عرضا تفصيليا حول برنامج “التميز في الخدمة”، الذي يهدف إلى تقديم تجربة سياحية لا مثيل لها رائدة عالميا من خلال التعاون مع كافة الشركاء، والمساهمة في جعل قطر الوجهة السياحية الأمثل للزوار.

إلى جانب التدريب، يوفر المجلس الوطني للسياحة للموظفين إمكانية المشاركة في “سلسلة حوارات المعرفة” من خلال برنامج التعلم الإلكتروني، إضافة إلى إمكانية المشاركة في المؤتمرات والندوات الافتراضية. كما تشارك وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية في برنامج التعلم الإلكتروني عبر تنفيذ دورات تدريبية وتقديم منح أكاديمية للموظفين القطريين لإكمال درجات البكالوريوس والماجستير والدكتوراه ممولة من دولة قطر.

وخلال العام الماضي، أعطى المجلس الوطني للسياحة الأولوية لبرامج التدريب والتعليم، حيث حصل المقيمون في قطر على 25 منحة دراسية تقدمها الأكاديمية السياحية الرقمية التابعة لمنظمة السياحة العالمية بالتعاون مع جامعة IE الدولية، مع الإشارة إلى دور المجلس الوطني للسياحة كراع مؤسس لأكاديمية السياحة الرقمية. وقد ساهم برنامج التعلم الإلكتروني في تمكين وتعزيز مهارات المهتمين بالقطاع السياحي في مجال إدارة السياحة، كما ساعدهم في النهوض بحياتهم الوظيفة. وتعد هذه المبادرة جزءا من الجهود المتواصلة التي تهدف إلى بناء قدرات القطاع خلال جائحة كورونا.

وتتمثل مهمة المجلس الوطني للسياحة في ترسيخ مكانة قطر على خريطة السياحة العالمية كوجهة رائدة تمتزج فيها أصالة الماضي وحداثة الحاضر، وتقصدها شعوب العالم لاستكشاف معالمها السياحية في مجالات الثقافة والرياضة والأعمال والترفيه العائلي. ويستند المجلس الوطني للسياحة في عمله إلى الاستراتيجية الوطنية لقطاع السياحة، والتي تستهدف تنويع المنتجات السياحية القطرية وتعزيز الإنفاق السياحي في الدولة. ومنذ إطلاق المرحلة الأولى من الإستراتيجية استقبلت قطر أكثر من 14 مليون زائر، وتعزز دور السياحة في الاقتصاد الوطني باعتبارها أحد روافده الداعمة، حيث تعتبر السياحة ومنذ 2017 أحد القطاعات ذات الأولوية ضمن مساعي الدولة في تنويع الاقتصاد وتنشيط القطاع الخاص.
