From Classroom to Summit: Qatar’s Youngest Climber Conquers Kilimanjaro

Doha: A student from Qatar Foundation (QF) has accomplished a remarkable feat by becoming the youngest Qatari to successfully conquer Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.

Yousef Al Kuwari, a 14-year-old student from Qatar Academy – Al Wakra (QAW) under Qatar Foundation, has now solidified his position as the youngest Qatari to have scaled Mount Kilimanjaro.

Al Kuwari was among a group of students from various QF Pre-University Education schools who recently returned from an expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

This experience has enabled Al Kuwari and his fellow participants to cultivate a range of skills that will shape their personalities, characters, and equip them to tackle life’s forthcoming challenges.

Al Kuwari has broken the record set by a 15-year-old QF student in 2022 as the youngest Qatari to have successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

The ‘Killi Challenge’ this year provided QF students with an unparalleled life experience, distinct from the conventional classroom learning.

الدوحة: نجح طالب قطري من مؤسسة قطر في تحقيق إنجاز ملحوظ حيث أصبح أصغر قطري يصل إلى قمة جبل كيليمنجارو، أعلى قمة في إفريقيا.

الطالب يوسف الكواري، البالغ من العمر 14 عامًا والذي يدرس في أكاديمية قطر – الوكرة تحت مظلة مؤسسة قطر، حقق رقمًا قياسيًا جديدًا كأصغر قطري يتمكن من التغلب على جبل كيليمنجارو. حقق هذا الإنجاز نتيجة مشاركته في رحلة تسلق الجبال إلى جبل كيليمنجارو في تنزانيا، التي نظمت لطلاب مدارس مؤسسة قطر للتعليم قبل الجامعي.

هذه التجربة قدمت للكواري وزملائه فرصة لتطوير مجموعة من المهارات التي ستشكل شخصيتهم وطبائعهم، وتجهيزهم للتغلب على تحديات الحياة في المستقبل.

يأتي إنجاز الكواري بعد نجاح طالب قطري آخر الذي كان يبلغ من العمر حينها ١٥ عامًا في تسلق جبل كيليمنجارو، والذي كان يحمل الرقم القياسي سابقًا كأصغر قطري يصل إلى قمة جبل كيليمنجارو في عام 2022.

أُطلق تحدّي “كيلي” لهذا العام ليوفر لطلاب مؤسسة قطر تجربة حياتية غير عادية خارج القاعة الدراسية.
