Home students wait for electronic solution

Doha: Home students in high school tests achieved a success rate of only 43% on the parallel track, which means that the failure rate exceeded 57%, despite that, the success rate is high compared to the success rate of adult education students which did not exceed 31% in the scientific track, and 35% in the literary track, which are the usual percentages of success annually, indicating the relative success achieved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in improving the rates of home students by developing the parallel path.

Al-Sharq discussed with a number of educational experts the reasons for the low rates of home students each year, despite the ministry’s educational services for this group of students. The solutions that can be implemented to solve the problem in the coming years, where they stressed that the student has a significant factor in his motivation to study and obtain the high school diploma, and that the conditions of the pandemic, the suspension of study and the services of evening education centers and the parallel path, have had a direct impact on the level of academic achievement, suggesting that the Ministry from next year allow the entry of home students to the platform of distance education and benefit from live broadcast lessons, etheretic classes and other educational services.

The experts also suggested that an electronic educational platform be created for home students, designed to suit their potential and will provide all sources of learning, in addition to other educational services, and the Ministry of Education can find a way to cooperate with employers to ease the workload on students, especially in times of tests, with the importance of continuous communication with students and overcoming all obstacles in front of them, and finally conducting a detailed research study on adult education students to learn about the obstacles they face and ways to overcome them from their point of view, as well as from the point of view of the educational field, and to benefit from the experiences of other countries that have been able to make tangible progress in the adult education file.

The parallel course of education aims to assist students who are unable to complete their high school studies with the same courses as those included in general education, through their own study programmes. The student studies a diluted curriculum for each subject to ensure that he or she is provided with the basic knowledge and skills required for the subject. The student receives the certificate of completion of the study for the 12th grade. This certificate is equivalent to the general high school diploma in employment benefits, and only career development.

ناقشت “الشرق” مع عدد من الخبراء التربويين الأسباب التي تؤدي إلى تدني معدلات طلاب المنازل كل عام، بالرغم مما توفره الوزارة من خدمات تعليمية لهذه الفئة من الطلاب. والحلول القابلة للتنفيذ من أجل حل الإشكالية في السنوات المقبلة، حيث أكدوا أن الطالب عليه عامل كبير يتمثل في دافعيته للدراسة والحصول على الشهادة الثانوية، كما أن ظروف الجائحة وتوقف الدراسة وخدمات مراكز التعليم المسائي والمسار الموازي، كان لها تأثير مباشر على مستوى التحصيل الأكاديمي، مقترحين أن تسمح الوزارة بدءاً من العام المقبل دخول طلاب المنازل إلى منصة التعليم عن بعد والاستفادة من دروس البث المباشر والحصص الإثرائية وغيرها من الخدمات التعليمية الأخرى.

كما اقترح الخبراء أن يتم إنشاء منصة إلكترونية تعليمية تُخصص لطلاب المنازل، وتكون مصممة لتناسب إمكانياتهم، تتيح تلك المنصة كافة مصادر التعلم، بالإضافة إلى خدمات تعليمية أخرى، كما يمكن لوزارة التعليم أن تجد وسيلة تتعاون بها مع جهات العمل لتخفيف الأعباء الوظيفية على الطلاب، خاصة في أوقات الاختبارات، مع أهمية التواصل المستمر مع الطلاب وتذليل كافة العقبات أمامهم، وأخيراً إجراء دراسة بحثية مفصلة على طلاب تعليم الكبار لمعرفة المعوقات التي تواجههم وسبل التغلب عليها من وجهة نظرهم، وكذلك من وجهة نظر الميدان التعليمي والتربوي، والاستفادة من تجارب الدول الأخرى التي استطاعت إحراز تقدم ملموس في ملف تعليم الكبار.

ويهدف مسار التعليم الموازي إلى مساعدة الطلبة غير القادرين على استكمال دراستهم في المرحلة الثانوية بنفس البرامج الدراسية المتضمنة في التعليم العام، من خلال برامج دراسية خاصة بهم. حيث يقوم الطالب بدراسة منهج تعليمي مخفف لكل مادة دراسية تضمن تزويده بالمعارف والمهارات الأساسية المطلوبة للمادة. ويحصل الطالب على شهادة إتمام الدراسة للصف الثاني عشر. وتعتبر هذه الشهادة معادلة للشهادة الثانوية العامة في استحقاقات التوظيف، والارتقاء بالدرجة الوظيفية فقط.
