Raising the minimum pension to 15,000 riyals

Doha: His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced high directives by His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to ensure a decent life for retired citizens, and to raise the minimum pension to 15,000 riyals.
His Excellency said in a comprehensive dialogue with the editors: The new retirement law is in the final stages of preparation and will be issued soon after being referred to the Shura Council for discussion.
He stressed that the law to be passed will include many articles that are in the interest of the retiree, and that there are amendments to the law, to add housing allowance among allowances, as well as to amend the provisions of “advances”, to keep up with the burdens of life and meet the aspirations of retirees and ensure a decent life for them.

الدوحة: أعلن معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية عن توجيهات سامية من قِبَل حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، بكفالة الحياة الكريمة للمُواطنين المُتقاعدين، ورفع الحد الأدنى للمعاش التقاعدي إلى 15 ألف ريال.
وقال معاليه في حوار شامل مع رؤساء التحرير: إن مشروع قانون التقاعد الجديد في مراحل الإعداد الأخيرة حاليًا وسيتم اتخاذ إجراءات استصداره قريبًا بعد إحالته إلى مجلس الشورى لمناقشته.
وأكد أن القانون المُزمع إصداره سيتضمّن العديد من المواد التي تصب في مصلحة المُتقاعد، كما أن هناك تعديلات على القانون، لإضافة بدل السكن من ضمن العلاوات، وكذلك تعديل الأحكام الخاصة بـ «السُلف»، لمُواكبة أعباء الحياة وتلبية تطلعات المُتقاعدين وضمان حياة كريمة لهم.
