Private lessons business defeats precautionary measures

Doha: As the end-of-second term tests approach, private lessons business is booming significantly, as parents turn to rely on the private teacher to prepare students for tests, despite warnings from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education not to rely on tutoring to protect first from strangers entering the home in the midst of the Corona epidemic, and to provide alternatives through the strengthening classes and enrichment lessons provided by schools online via the Teams platform, the first option goes always for a private teacher.

The Ministry of Education monitors and follows up the negative effects of the phenomenon of private lessons, so the Ministry has moved to develop alternatives and practical solutions that can make up for private lessons. Education has provided distance learning enrichment classes, providing students with the opportunity to academic achievement through their teachers and under the direct supervision of the school administration, in addition to providing illustrated lessons, and the Department of Student Evaluation and through the Ministry’s website provide a number of experimental tests and model solutions, but these alternatives have not been able to cope with the phenomenon of private lessons.

Although the functional system of school staff stipulates that anyone who commits prohibitions is punished on disciplinary grounds, including giving private lessons, some teachers continue to give lessons for money, with the price of 1 hour reaching 100 riyals, while the Ministry of Education cannot prosecute these teachers and apply regulations to them, because most of them are from outside the ministry.

الدوحة: مع اقتراب موعد اختبارات نهاية الفصل الدراسي الثاني، يشهد “بيزنس” الدروس الخصوصية انتعاشاً كبيراً، نظراً لإقبال أولياء الأمور على الاعتماد على المدرس الخصوصي لإعداد الطلاب للاختبارات، بالرغم من تحذيرات وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي من الاعتماد على الدروس الخصوصية للحماية أولاً من دخول الغرباء إلى المنزل في ظل انتشار وباء كورونا، ولتوفير بدائل من خلال فصول التقوية والدروس الإثرائية التي توفرها المدارس أونلاين عبر منصة (تيمز)، إلا أن الخيار الأول دائماً يكون للمدرس الخصوصي.

وأجمع طلاب وأولياء أمور على أن الوقت الحالي يشهد إقبالاً متزايداً على المدرس الخصوصي، إذ وصل سعر الحصة الواحدة إلى 300 ريال للساعة، وفي بعض الأحيان 350 ريالا، فيما يوفر المدرسون أيضاً مجموعات صغيرة مكونة من طالبين إلى 3 طلاب ليكون سعر الحصة 150 ريالا، مما يمثل خطورة من اختلاط الطلاب ببعضهم البعض ونقل فيروس كورونا في حال إصابة أحد المتواجدين، فضلاً عن قيام بعض المدرسين حالياً بإعطاء حصص أونلاين يصل سعرها إلى 50 ريالا.

وتقوم وزارة التعليم برصد ومتابعة الآثار السالبة لظاهرة الدروس الخصوصية؛ لذا اتجهت الوزارة إلى وضع البدائل والحلول العملية التي يمكن أن تُغني عن الدروس الخصوصية. وقامت التعليم بتوفير صفوف إثراء التعلم عن بُعد، لتتيح للطلبة فرصة التحصيل الأكاديمي من خلال معلميهم وبإشراف مباشر من إدارة المدرسة، بالإضافة إلى توفير الدروس المصورة، كما تتيح إدارة تقييم الطلبة وعبر الموقع الإلكتروني للوزارة جملة من الاختبارات التجريبية وحلولها النموذجية، إلا أن تلك البدائل لم تستطع مواجهة ظاهرة الدروس الخصوصية.

وبالرغم من أن النظام الوظيفي لموظفي المدارس ينص على أن كل من يرتكب المحظورات يجازى تأديبياً، ومن ضمن تلك المخالفات إعطاء الدروس الخصوصية، إلا أن بعض المعلمين ما زالوا يقومون بإعطاء الدروس بمقابل مادي، حيث يصل ثمن الساعة الواحدة إلى 100 ريال، فيما لا تستطيع وزارة التعليم ملاحقة هؤلاء المعلمين وتطبيق اللوائح عليهم، لأن معظمهم من خارج الوزارة.
