WHO records the highest number of daily Covid-19 Cases

Geneva: The World Health Organization recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases in the world on Saturday, according to its follow-up record, when it was updated on Sunday.
The United Nations organization received a notification of 660,905 cases on Saturday.
The previous record number was recorded on Friday, amounting to 645,410 cases, and before that on November 7th. which was 614,013 cases.
The organization’s branch in the Americas also counted a record number of cases on Saturday, reaching 269,225 new confirmed cases.
The numbers published by the WHO usually rise on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while they decrease on Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to the organization’s total numbers, it counted more than 53.7 million confirmed cases since the outbreak of the epidemic, which also killed more than 1.3 million people.
For his part, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned on Friday that there is still a “long way to go” before controlling the emerging coronavirus worldwide.
For the first time, the WHO recorded more than 9,500 deaths on three consecutive days: 9,928 Thursday, 9,567 Friday, and 9,924 Saturday.
Thursday’s death toll is the highest since 10,012 deaths were recorded on August 15th, and the third highest daily toll since the start of the pandemic.
On Friday, Ghebreyesus said, “No country can say that it was sufficiently prepared to confront Covid-19,” and requested that every “scientific progress” be in the interest of all countries, stressing that the virus can be contained even in the absence of a vaccine, provided that appropriate measures are taken.

وسجلت الحصيلة القياسية السابقة الجمعة وبلغت 645,410 إصابات، وقبلها في 7 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر وبلغت 614,013 إصابة.
كما أحصى فرع المنظمة في الأميركيتين عدد إصابات قياسيا السبت، بلغ 269,225 إصابة جديدة مؤكدة.
وترتفع عادة الأرقام التي تنشرها منظمة الصحة العالمية أيام الجمعة والسبت والأحد، فيما تنخفض يومي الثلاثاء والأربعاء.
وأحصيت وفق أرقام المنظمة الاجمالية أكثر من 53,7 مليون إصابة مؤكدة منذ ظهور الوباء الذي أودى أيضا بما يزيد على 1,3 مليون شخص.
من جهته حذر المدير العام للمنظمة تيدروس أدهانوم غبريسوس الجمعة من أنه لا يزال ثمة “طريق طويل” قبل السيطرة على فيروس كورونا المستجد على مستوى العالم.
وسجلت منظمة الصحة لأول مرة أكثر من 9500 وفاة في ثلاثة أيام متتالية: 9928 الخميس و9567 الجمعة و9924 السبت.
وحصيلة الوفيات الخميس هي الأعلى منذ تسجيل 10012 وفاة في 15 آب/أغسطس، وثالث أعلى الحصائل اليومية منذ بداية الجائحة.
وقال غبريسوس الجمعة “لا يمكن لأي بلد القول إنه كان مستعدا بالقدر الكافي لمواجهة كوفيد-19″، وطلب أن يصب كل “تقدم علمي” في صالح كافة الدول، مشددا على إمكان احتواء الفيروس حتى في ظل عدم وجود لقاح شرط اتخاذ تدابير ملائمة.
