The most prominent decisions of the weekly cabinet meeting

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi issued the following statement:

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet praised HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s speech at the main session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2021) held last Friday in St. Petersburg in the Russian Federation, as well as the important implications of the speech, whether in terms of Qatari-Russian relations or in the field of international cooperation and finding effective solutions to common economic challenges, especially in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its serious negative repercussions on the global economy.

The Cabinet also praised HH the Amir’s important intervention in the forum’s discussion session and the visions and ideas he presented in the fields of the future of energy, environmental protection, sports, and HH the Amir’s vision around the world after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cabinet affirmed that the participation of HH the Amir in the forum, at the invitation of HE President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and the selection of the State of Qatar as the guest country in it, and its wide, distinguished and high-level participation in its work, and the agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed during it, have reflected the depth of the relations of the two countries and strengthened the strategic partnership between them, which opens new horizons for the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

The Cabinet was then briefed by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to curb COVID-19. The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the precautionary measures taken to combat the pandemic.

Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First – Take the necessary measures to issue a draft law on mediation in settling civil and commercial disputes, after the Cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council on the draft law.

Second – Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation and integration in the field of earthquakes and geophysics between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and Sultan Qaboos University in the Sultanate of Oman.

Third – the Cabinet reviewed the memorandum of HE Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs on some of the Ministry’s recommendations regarding the results of the 340th session of the International Labor Organization Board of Directors, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.

الدوحة: ترأس معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية الاجتماع العادي الذي عقده المجلس يوم الأمس بمقره في الديوان الأميري.

وعقب الاجتماع أدلى سعادة الدكتور عيسى بن سعد الجفالي النعيمي، وزير العدل والقائم بأعمال وزير الدولة لشؤون مجلس الوزراء بما يلي :

في بداية الاجتماع، أشاد مجلس الوزراء بكلمة حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى “حفظه الله”، في الجلسة الرئيسية لمنتدى سانت بطرسبورغ الاقتصادي الدولي (SPIEF 2021) والتي عقدت يوم الجمعة الماضي بمدينة سانت بطرسبورغ في روسيا الاتحادية، وما اشتملت عليه الكلمة من مضامين هامة، سواء على صعيد العلاقات القطرية الروسية أو في مجال التعاون الدولي وإيجاد الحلول الفعالة للتحديات الاقتصادية المشتركة، لا سيما في ظل استمرار جائحة (كوفيد-19) وتداعياتها السلبية الخطيرة على الاقتصاد العالمي.

كما أشاد المجلس بمداخلة سموه المهمة في الجلسة النقاشية للمنتدى وما طرحه خلال الجلسة من رؤى وأفكار في مجالات مستقبل الطاقة وحماية البيئة والرياضة ورؤية سموه حول العالم ما بعد جائحة (كوفيد-19).

وأكد المجلس أن مشاركة سمو الأمير المفدى في هذا المنتدى الهام، بدعوة من فخامة الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين رئيس روسيا الاتحادية الصديقة، واختيار دولة قطر الدولة الضيف فيه، ومشاركتها الواسعة والمتميزة ورفيعة المستوى في أعماله، والاتفاقيات ومذكرات التفاهم التي تم توقيعها خلاله، قد عكست عمق علاقات البلدين وعززت الشراكة الاستراتيجية بينهما، وفتحت آفاقا جديدة لتطوير تعاونهما الثنائي في شتى المجالات لمصلحة شعبيهما الصديقين.

ثم استمع المجلس إلى الشرح الذي قدمه سعادة وزير الصحة العامة حول آخر المستجدات والتطورات للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، وأكد المجلس على استمرار العمل بما تم اتخاذه من إجراءات وتدابير احترازية في سبيل مكافحة هذا الوباء.

وبعد ذلك نظر مجلس الوزراء في الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال على النحو التالي:

أولا – اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لاستصدار مشروع قانون بإصدار قانون الوساطة في تسوية المنازعات المدنية والتجارية، وذلك بعد أن اطلع مجلس الوزراء على توصية مجلس الشورى حول مشروع القانون.

ثانيا – الموافقة على مشروع مذكرة تفاهم للتعاون والتكامل في مجال الزلازل والجيوفيزياء بين الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني في دولة قطر وجامعة السلطان قابوس في سلطنة عُمان.

ثالثا – استعرض مجلس الوزراء مذكرة سعادة وزير التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية حول بعض توصيات الوزارة بشأن نتائج الدورة (340) لمجلس إدارة منظمة العمل الدولية، واتخذ بشأنها القرار المناسب.
