Turkey excludes Qatari children under 6 from Coronavirus test

Doha: The Qatari Embassy in Ankara announced that Turkey has decided to exclude Qatari children under the age of 6 years from the Coronavirus (PCR) test when they travel from Doha to the country.

The embassy tweeted on Tuesday that in order to follow the announcement by the Embassy of Qatar to the Turkish Republic that citizens under the age of 18 are required to undergo a PCR test, some of them were to be excluded as it was decided.

It added: “The Embassy of Qatar to Turkey draws the attention of its citizens to the exclusion of children under the age of 6 from PCR test when they come from Qatar to Turkey, noting that the precautionary procedures of Covid-19 are constantly changing.

As of June 1st, two categories of citizens from Doha to Turkey have been exempted from PCR testing:

Travelers who show a certificate proving that they have received the vaccination, provided that 14 days have passed since they took the second dose, and travelers who show a certificate that they have recovered from the Coronavirus within the last 6 months,

Before the procedures are changed, citizens under the age of 18 are obliged to provide a negative PCR test result upon their arrival in Turkey from Doha, and then those under 6 years old are excluded from that.

الدوحة: أعلنت السفارة القطرية في أنقرة أن تركيا قررت استثناء أطفال القطريين دون 6 سنوات من فحص كورونا (PCR) عند قدومهم من الدوحة إلى البلاد.

وقالت في تغريدة على حسابها بموقع تويتر يوم الثلاثاء إنه إلحاقاً بإعلان سفارة دولة قطر لدى الجمهورية التركية بشأن إلزام من هم دون 18 عاماً من المواطنين بإجراء فحص PCR، تقرر استثناء البعض من ذلك.

وأضافت: تلفت سفارة قطر لدى تركيا نظر مواطنيها الكرام إلى استثناء الأطفال الذين تقل أعمارهم عن 6 سنوات من إجراء فحص PCR عند مجيئهم من قطر إلى تركيا، منوهة إلى أن الإجراءات الاحترازية الخاصة بكوفيد 19 تتغير باستمرار.

وابتداءً من 1 يونيو الجاري تم إعفاء فئتين من المواطنين القادمين من الدوحة إلى تركيا من فحص الـPCR وهم: المسافرون الذين يبرزون شهادة تثبت حصولهم على التطعيم على أن يكون قد مضى على أخذهم للجرعة الثانية 14 يوماً، والمسافرون الذين يبرزون شهادة تثبت شفاءهم من فيروس كورونا خلال آخر 6 أشهر، قبل أن يتم تغيير الإجراءات وإلزام المواطنين الذين تقل أعمارهم عن 18 عاماً بفحص PCR سلبي لدى وصولهم إلى تركيا قادمين من الدوحة، ثم استثناء من هم دون 6 سنوات من ذلك.
