Los Angeles: Marvel’s popular villain Loki finds himself in trouble with the time police as the character stars in a new thriller on the Disney+ streaming service.
“Loki,” which debuts on Wednesday, stars Tom Hiddleston as the god of mischief, a role the British actor has played since his appearance in 2010 movie “Thor.”
Set after events depicted in 2019 film “Avengers: Endgame,” the six-episode series catches up with Loki just after the Battle of New York when he escapes from Avengers custody and steals a time stone known as the Tesseract.
A group known as the Time Variance Authority (TVA), which keeps events from various universes in proper sequence, places Loki under arrest for abusing time travel and he is stripped of his magical shape-shifting powers.
“You take Loki, who seems to always be in control, and you put him in an environment where he has no control at all, no power, no potency,” Hiddleston said. “He’s stripped of all familiarity.”
In a clip released on Sunday, a shot of Loki’s TVA file listed his sex as “fluid,” delighting fans who have called for more LGBTQ characters in Marvel movies.
Owen Wilson co-stars as TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius, who enlists Loki’s help in finding a killer who is disrupting the timeline. Wilson said he had not watched many Marvel films and relied on “Loki Lectures” from Hiddleston to help him understand the character.
“For a few days before filming began, he was really patient and really walking me through the whole … mythology,” Wilson said. “A lot of the way that we sort of play off each other sort of began in kind of just talking about stuff in those early days.”
The series introduces a slew of new characters to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, including Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15 and Richard E. Grant in an unrevealed role.

لوس أنجيلوس: كشفت مارفل عن التريلر الدعائي لمسلسها الجديد “loki”، وموعد طرحه للجمهور، لتشوق متابعي المسلسل بعدد من اللقطات الساحرة حيث يختفي توم هيدلستون ويظهر من خلال بلورة سحرية، ويقوم بأعمال السحر والأبطال الخارقين في الأرض والفضاء.
وكشفت مارفل عن التريلر من خلال حسابها الرسمي على موقع “إنستجرام”، وعلقت عليه، “9 يونيو.. حلقات جديدة كل أربعاء على DisneyPlus”، ما يعني أن المسلسل لن يكون متاح لمشاهدي الشرق الأوسط، حيث لا يمكنهم الاشتراك على منصة DisneyPlus.
من ناحية أخرى، سبق وأعلنت شركة ديزني عن بدء العمل على الجزء الثاني من مسلسل “Loki”، الذي ستعرض حلقاته على منصتها، وذلك رغم عدم عرض الجزء الأول حتى الآن، وبحسب موقع Deadline الشهير، فإن هناك رغبة كبيرة لدى شركتي مارفل وديزني في خروج الجزء الثاني للنور لثقتهم الكبيرة بنجاح الجزء الأول رغم عدم طرحه بعد، كما أشار التقرير إلى أن هناك اتفاقا بينهما من نوفمبر من العام الماضي على بدء العمل على الجزء الثاني بداية 2021.
وكانت شركة مارفل، قد كشفت في نوفمبر الماضي عن بعض ملامح خطتها الجديدة للعام المقبل، والتي تضمنت مسلسل جديد لشخصية “لوكي – loki”، وبحسب تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة Entertainment، للممثل توم هيدلستون، الذي جسد الشخصية الشهيرة، أكد أن بداية التصوير ستكون في شهر يناير المقبل، وهو ما تم بالفعل، حيث بدأ تصوير الجزء الأول، على أن يُطرح الموسم الأول من المسلسل في عام 2021، قبل أن يتم تحديد موعده مؤخرا.
“لوكي” هو شخصية من أساطير الإسكندنافية، التي ظهرت فى الكثير من الأفلام بجوار شخصية “ثور” التي يجسدها كريس هيمسوورث، والتي من المرجح أن يظهر في المسلسل في بعض المشاهد البدائية عن سرد احداث بلادهم “ازجارد”.
