QU to hold graduation ceremony of 41st batch

DOHA: Under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar University (QU) will hold the male students’ graduation ceremony, Class of 2018 on November 11, 2018.

The distinguished female students’ ceremony will be held on November 12 under the patronage of H H Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, wife of H H the Amir. The graduation ceremony for the female students of each college will be held on November 13-14-15. All ceremonies will be held in the new Sports and Events Complex at Qatar University.

This year, around 3,362 students (2,562 females and 800 males) from fall 2017, winter 2018, spring 2018 and summer 2018 will be graduating from all colleges. This is the 41st batch of students to graduate from QU.

Qatar University’s new strategy emphasis on elevating students’ experiences through placing Qatar University as a pioneer and a leading educational institution in the higher education sector in Qatar and abroad. QU is committed to providing high-quality education in areas of national priority. Thus, with confident steps, moving towards building a knowledge-based society.

The strategy aims to facilitate and encourage the Qatari nationals to enter the university and graduate with high educational degrees. Furthermore, QU works to increase the flexibility of educational opportunities, providing programs for under-graduate and graduate students that meet the needs of the current and future the country’s labor market.

Dr Khalid Al-Khanji, QU’s V-P for Student Affairs, said: “I extend my appreciation and gratitude to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his continuous support for Qatar University and for education in general.”

“The graduation of the 41st batch of students comes after years of dedication and hard work during which QU has accomplished many achievements in regional and international university rankings. The University has also been successful in its accreditation initiatives, earning the endorsement of numerous leading international accrediting bodies for its colleges and academic programs,” he added

Additionally, QU has notched up a number of ISO certifications for its research labs and management systems. he said: “This had a positive impact on the level of competency of QU graduates, and reflects the University’s commitment to graduate highly-qualified students who meet the labor market’s expectations.”

Since its inception in 1973, QU has served as Qatar’s primary institution of higher education. With more than 20,000 students in its ranks and 45,000 alumni, it is today a beacon of higher education and academic and research excellence.

تحت الرعاية الكريمة لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، تحتفل جامعة قطر في الحادي عشر من نوفمبر المقبل، بتخريج الدفعة الحادية والأربعين من طلاب جامعة قطر (دفعة 2018)، فيما يقام حفل تخريج الطالبات المتفوقات برعاية سمو الشيخة جواهر بنت حمد بن سحيم آل ثاني حرم سمو الأمير، في 12 من الشهر ذاته.

كما ستقيم جامعة قطر حفل تخريج جميع الطالبات خلال أيام 13-14-15 نوفمبر، وذلك في مجمع الرياضات والفعاليات الجديد بجامعة قطر الذي سيحتضن جميع حفلات التخرج.

ويبلغ إجمالي عدد خريجي هذه الدفعة من طلبة جامعة قطر 3362 طالباً وطالبة، بواقع 800 من الخريجين و2562 خريجة.

وفي تصريح بهذه المناسبة، قال الدكتور خالد الخنجي، نائب رئيس الجامعة لشؤون الطلاب: إن الدفعة الجديدة من الخريجين تُعدّ ثمرة سنوات طويلة من العمل الجاد والدؤوب الذي قامت به جامعة قطر، حققت خلالها مراكز متميزة في تصنيف الجامعات، دولياً وعربياً.

وأشار الدكتور الخنجي إلى ما حققته الجامعة من إنجازات مهمة انعكست إيجاباً على مستوى الخريجين وكفاءتهم في سوق العمل.. قائلاً: «تحتفل الجامعة بهذه الدفعة وسط إنجازات مهمة بعد تقدّمها في التصنيف العالمي وحصول عدد من كلياتها وبرامجها على الاعتماد الأكاديمي، وحيازة مختبراتها وإداراتها على شهادات الجودة العالمية (الأيزو)».

وأضاف: «منذ انطلاقتها عام 1977، كانت جامعة قطر هي مؤسسة التعليم العالي الرئيسية في قطر، وهي تقدم اليوم تعليماً نوعياً يواكب المعايير العالمية، وملفاً بحثياً يعتبر الأسرع نمواً في المنطقة».

واختتم نائب رئيس الجامعة لشؤون الطلاب تصريحه بتقديم التهنئة لجميع خريجي الدفعة وخريجاتها، على ما بذلوه من جد واجتهاد خلال مسيرتهم الجامعية؛ مؤكداً سعي الجامعة دائماً إلى تسهيل عملية الدراسة وتقديم الأفضل لخريجيها.

يشار إلى أنه بتخريج هذه الدفعة الجديدة يصل عدد خريجي جامعة قطر منذ افتتاحها في سبعينات القرن الماضي إلى 45 ألف طالب وطالبة.;
