Excavations disturb the joy of Al-Mearad residents in developing the area

Doha: Despite the joy of the residents of Al-Mearad in the public works authority “Ashghal” implementing infrastructure project in their area, which will provide them with sanitation services, road lighting and beautification of sidewalks, the closures and traffic transfers put by the company implementing the project disturbed this joy, and made them face difficulties due to one-way traffic transfers, which force them to drive long distances to reach their homes, as well as what they described as the slow progress of the project that began several months ago, and residents met by Al-Raya demanded «Ashghal» to communicate with the company implementing the project and oblige it to increase the number of workers and machinery to complete the project as soon as possible.
They called on the stakeholder to put the commercial shops street located behind Al-Meera branch on the development list because of the severe suffering faced by its users due to its ruggedness and causing major breakdowns to their vehicles, pointing out that they have been waiting for the development of this street for many years and yet remains the same.
Abdullah al-Saeed said: Residents face difficulty when entering and exiting the area due to the design of transfers that do not take into account traffic safety, as they are narrow and force drivers to drive at low speed, which leads to a suffocating traffic jam, especially at peak times, pointing out that the completion of work on vital streets within the area, which lead drivers to the main roads must be done at maximum speed.
He pointed out that the delay in the completion of the project led to many traffic accidents, since some entrances to transfers are invisible to one of the drivers due to concrete barriers, demanding the need to reconsider the design and expansion of these narrow transfers in order to be safe for drivers, and stressed the importance of resorting to the use of water to prevent dust from flying and reaching the homes of residents during excavations and burials, and to avoid diseases that may affect the population such as asthma and allergies, especially to children.

الدوحة: رغم فرحة سكان المعراض بتنفيذ هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال» مشروع البنية التحتية بمنطقتهم، الذي سيزودهم بخدمات الصرف الصحي وإنارة الطرق وتجميل الأرصفة، إلا أن الإغلاقات والتحويلات المرورية التي وضعتها الشركة المُنفذة للمشروع انتقصت من هذه الفرحة، وجعلتهم يواجهون الصعوبات بسبب التحويلات المرورية ذات الاتجاه الواحد، التي تُجبرهم على القيادة لمسافات طويلة للوصول إلى منازلهم، فضلًا عما وصفوه ببطء سير العمل في المشروع الذي بدأ منذ عدة أشهر، وطالب سكان التقت بهم الراية هيئة الأشغال العامة «أشغال» بالتواصل مع الشركة المُنفذة للمشروع وإلزامها بزيادة عدد العمالة والآليات للانتهاء من المشروع في أسرع وقت ممكن. وطالبوا الجهة المعنيّة بوضع شارع المحلات التجارية الواقع خلف فرع الميرة على قائمة التطوير نظرًا للمُعاناة الشديدة التي يواجهها مُستخدموه بسبب وعورته وتسببه في إحداث أعطال كبيرة لمركباتهم، لافتين إلى أنهم ينتظرون تطوير هذا الشارع منذ سنوات طويلة وحتى الآن لا يزال على حاله.
وقال عبدالله السعيد: إن السكان يواجهون صعوبة عند قيامهم بالدخول والخروج من المنطقة بسبب تصميم التحويلات التي لا تراعي السلامة المرورية، حيث إن مساحتها ضيّقة وتُجبر السائقين على القيادة بسرعة منخفضة، وهو ما يؤدي إلى حدوث زحام مروري خانق فيها خاصة في أوقات الذروة، مشيرًا إلى أن إنجاز الأعمال في الشوارع الحيوية داخل المنطقة، التي تصل السائقين إلى الطرق الرئيسية يجب أن يتم بسرعة قصوى.
ولفت إلى أن تأخّر إنجاز المشروع أدّى لوقوع حوادث مرورية عديدة؛ نظرًا لأن بعض المداخل للتحويلات تكون غير مرئية لأحد السائقين بسبب الحواجز الإسمنتية، مُطالبًا بضرورة إعادة النظر في تصميم تلك التحويلات الضيّقة وتوسعتها حتى تكون آمنة للسائقين، كما شدد على أهمية اللجوء إلى استخدام المياه لمنع تطاير الأتربة ووصولها إلى منازل السكان أثناء عمليات الحفر والدفن، وتفادي الأمراض التي قد تُصيب السكان مثل الربو والحساسية وخاصة للأطفال.
