Record-Breaking: International Agency Reports a 26.6% Increase in Qatar’s Visitor Numbers

A report from the British global real estate consultancy agency, “Cushman & Wakefield,” reveals a significant surge of 26.6% in visitor numbers to Qatar during the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, Qatar saw a notable increase in air travelers, along with a rise in activity between July and August 2023 compared to the same period in the previous year.
Air travel saw a 24.3% increase in July 2023 compared to the same month in 2022, with a total of 4.3 million passengers.
In August 2023, Qatar recorded a growth of 28.1% in air travelers, reaching a record high of around 4.4 million visitors. In September, Qatar welcomed 4 million travelers, marking a substantial increase of 26.2%.
The agency attributes the rise in visitor numbers to Qatar hosting several prominent international events, including Expo 2023 and the Geneva Motor Show 2023.
Qatar aims to triple its number of visitors by 2030, making it the fastest-growing destination in the region.
Additionally, Qatar is working to increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the Qatari economy to around 12% of the gross domestic product by 2030.

شهدت رحلات الطيران زيادة بنسبة 24.3% في يوليو 2023 مقارنة بنفس الشهر من عام 2022، مع وصول 4.3 ملايين مسافر.
وفي أغسطس 2023، سجلت قطر نموًا بنسبة 28.1% في عدد المسافرين جواً، وصولًا إلى رقم قياسي يبلغ حوالي 4.4 مليون زائر. في سبتمبر، زارت قطر 4 ملايين مسافر بزيادة كبيرة قدرها 26.2%.
ترجع الوكالة ارتفاع عدد الزوار إلى قطر إلى استضافتها عدة فعاليات عالمية بارزة، منها معرض إكسبو 2023 ومعرض جنيف للسيارات 2023.
تهدف قطر إلى مضاعفة عدد زوارها بثلاث مرات بحلول عام 2030، مما يجعلها الوجهة الأسرع نموًا في المنطقة.
وتعمل قطر أيضًا على رفع حصة قطاع السياحة في الاقتصاد القطري إلى حوالي 12% من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي بحلول عام 2030.
