Mars meets Pollux in the sky of Qatar this evening

Doha: The Qatar Calendar House announced that the red planet “Mars” will meet the Pollux star in the sky of the State of Qatar and the Arab countries this evening, as Mars will be at an angular distance of about five arc degrees south of the center of the Pollux.
Dr. Bashir Marzouq (an astronomer at the Qatar Calendar House) said: “Residents of the State of Qatar can observe and see Mars and the back of the Pollux together this evening with the naked eye above the western horizon of the sky of the State of Qatar starting after sunset on Monday, and even before sunset, given that the sun will set in the sky of Qatar at 6:20 pm Doha local time, while the date of sunset for Mars in the sky of Qatar will be 9:27 pm Doha local time.

الدوحة: أعلنت دارُ التقويم القطري أن الكوكب الأحمر «كوكب المريخ» سيلتقي مع نجم رأس التوأم المؤخّر في سماء دولة قطر والدول العربية، وذلك مساء اليوم، حيث سيكونُ المريخُ على بُعد زاوي قدرُه خمس درجات قوسيّة تقريبًا جنوب مركز نجم رأس التوأم المؤخّر.
وقال الدكتور بشير مرزوق (الخبير الفلكي بدار التقويم القطري): «إنّ سكّان دولة قطر يمكنهم رصدُ ورؤية المريخ ورأس التوأم المؤخر معًا مساء اليوم بالعين المجردة أعلى الأفق الغربي لسماء دولة قطر من بعد غروب شمس الاثنين، وحتى قبل موعد غروب المريخ، علمًا بأنّ الشمس ستغرب في سماء قطر عند الساعة 6:20 مساء بتوقيت الدوحة المحلّي، بينما سيكون موعد غروب المريخ في سماء قطر عند 9:27 مساءً بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي.
