Ashghal: Over 1 Million Man-Hours without LTI
أشغال: إنجاز أكثر من مليون ساعة عمل دون حوادث
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ achieved over 1 million man-hours without loss time injury (LTI) since it started implementing the works of the Industrial Area Sewage Treatment Works Design and Build Project (Third Expansion). Ashghal, represented by Eng. Khalid Saif Al-Khayareen, Drainage Networks Projects Department Manager, honored the project contractor, M/s Larsen & Toubro limited for this achievement.
On this occassion, Eng. Khalid Saif Al-Khayareen, Manager of Drainage Networks Projects Department commented: “This important achievement is a reflection of the Public Works Authority’s constant keenness to cooperate with project contractors in order to implement the highest safety standards in the workplace. There is no doubt that safety specifications are one of the most important criteria that the authority takes into account when qualifying and selecting contractors to ensure the protection of workers from injuries resulting from work hazards. The authority also obliges contractors to a set of standards and requirements that must be available at work sites during the implementation of projects in order to protect workers as well visitor of the areas covered by the projects.”
Ashghal started implementing the third expansion for Industrial Area Sewage Treatment Works Design and Build Project in November 2018. Around 48% of works are complete so far, and the project is expected to be completed in Q2, 2021.
The project is located approximately 2 kilometre South West of the Doha Industrial Area. It is part of the Public Works Authority’s plan to implement a series of expansions to the sewage treatment plant in the industrial area, which started its operations at a capacity of only 12,000 m3/day. Ashghal implemented two expansions to the treatment to reach a capacity of around 60,000 m3/day in 2017.
The Third Expansion project currently under implementation aims to increase the Doha Industrial Area sewage treatment plant capacity up to 90,000 m3/day. The plan includes another expansion in the future to reach a total capacity of 120,000 m3/day.
حققت هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” أكثر من مليون ساعة عمل دون حوادث منذ البدء بتنفيذ أعمال مشروع تصميم وبناء التوسعة الثالثة لمحطة معالجة مياه الصرف الصحي في المنطقة الصناعية، وقد قامت الهيئة ممثلة بالمهندس خالد سيف الخيارين، مدير إدارة مشاريع شبكات الصرف الصحي، بتكريم مقاول تنفيذ المشروع شركة “لارسن وتوبرو المحدودة”.
وبهذه المناسبة علّق المهندس خالد سيف الخيارين، مدير إدارة مشاريع شبكات الصرف الصحي في “أشغال”: “إن هذا الإنجاز الهام هو انعكاس لحرص هيئة الأشغال العامة الدائم على التعاون مع مقاولي تنفيذ المشاريع بهدف تطبيق أعلى معايير السلامة في مواقع العمل، ولا شك أن مواصفات السلامة هي من أهم المعايير التي تأخذها الهيئة بعين الاعتبار عند تأهيل واعتماد المقاولين لضمان حماية العمّال من الإصابات الناتجة عن مخاطر العمل، كما تُلزم الهيئة المقاولين بمجموعة من المعايير والاشتراطات التي يجب أن تتوفر في مواقع العمل خلال تنفيذ المشاريع بهدف حماية العمّال وكذلك روّاد المناطق التي تغطيها المشاريع.”
هذا وقد كانت “أشغال” قد بدأت بتنفيذ أعمال مشروع التوسعة الثالثة لمحطة معالجة مياه الصرف الصحي في المنطقة الصناعية في نوفمبر 2018، حيث تم إنجاز 48% من الأعمال حتى الآن، ومن المخطط أن يكتمل المشروع في الربع الثاني من عام 2021.
يقع المشروع على بعد حوالي 2 كيلومتر من جنوب غرب المنطقة الصناعية بالدوحة، وهو جزء من خطة هيئة الأشغال العامة لتنفيذ سلسلة من التوسعات لمحطة معالجة مياه الصرف الصحي بالمنطقة الصناعية، والتي بدأت عملها بقدرة استيعابية لا تتجاوز الـ 12,000 متر مكعب/في اليوم، وقد تمت توسعتها على مرحلتين لتصل قدرتها الاستيعابية إلى حوالي 60,000 متر مكعب/في اليوم عام 2017.
يهدف مشروع التوسعة الثالثة الذي يجري تنفيذه حالياً إلى زيادة القدرة الاستيعابية إلى حوالي 90,000 متر مكعب/في اليوم لمحطة المعالجة بالمنطقة الصناعية بالدوحة، كما تشمل الخطة تنفيذ توسعة إضافية للمحطة في المستقبل للوصول إلى قدرة استيعابية قدرها 120,000 متر مكعب/في اليوم.
