Guinea President Invites Qatari Businessmen to Invest in his Country

Doha: HE President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo called on Qatari businessmen to invest in his country, especially in sectors that provide investment opportunities such as agriculture, food security and fishing, noting that there are many of these opportunities that can be exploited.
HE President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea has met on Sunday with members of Qatar Chamber and a number of Qatari businessmen.
The meeting touched on ways of enhancing trade relations between both countries and exploring the investment opportunities available in Equatorial Guinea.
Addressing the meeting, HE President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea said that his country depends more on oil, while there are other sectors such as agriculture, noting that Guinea has vast areas that can be used for food security projects.
His Excellency also stressed that his country offers a lot of investment opportunities that attract Qatari businessmen, especially in fisheries which is a very promising sector.
HE Guinean President invited Qatari investors to invest in his country and set up joint enterprises with Guinean companies, affirming that it a secure destination for investments.
His Excellency reviewed investment climate in his country, noting that Guinea established an investment system for encouraging foreign investments, as well as it set up plans for economic diversification and single window for setting up new companies.
His Excellency also said that Guinea is seeking to benefit from Qatars experiment in economic diversification.
For his part, HE QC’s First Vice-Chairman HE Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari said that the forum offers a good opportunity for identifying the promising opportunities available in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
His Excellency stressed the common interest of both countries to boosting their cooperation links, affirming that this is best illustrated by singing a joint statement to establish diplomatic relations between both countries last month.
HE Al Kuwari also pointed out that this step stressed the importance Qatar attaches to the Africa continent and its concern to increasing its investments in Africa, which has tremendous economic potential and offers rewarding opportunities for investments.
Underscoring the importance of this step, His Excellency indicated that Qatars private sector is hopeful that this step would enhance the two countries economic and commercial cooperation, especially that their trade exchange is still below aspirations despite the huge potential they own and the availability of fields of cooperation between them.
HE Al Kuwari also said that the State of Qatar is attaching great interest to enhancing the food security by developing more agricultural and industrial projects that support this sector, assuring that this sector offers plenty of opportunities for both sides to cooperate in, alongside other sectors such as oil and infrastructure.
“Qatar Chamber supports and encourages Qatari business owners and investors to learn about the investment opportunities available in Guinea. We are ready to help and guide Guinean businessmen and investors seeking to establish businesses in Qatar.” His Excellency added.
On his part, HE QC board members Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad said that the Qatari private sector is hopeful this visit would develop more cooperation in line with the aspirations of both countries leaderships.
He emphasized that the Qatari side is ready to share its successful experiments with its Guinean counterpart, pointing to the importance of signing a memorandum of understanding between chambers of both countries to further enhance cooperation between the private sectors in both parties.

الدوحة: دعا فخامة الرئيس تيودورو أوبيانغ انغويما امباسوغو رئيس جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية، رجال الأعمال القطريين إلى الاستثمار في بلاده، خاصة في القطاعات التي توفر فرصا استثمارية مثل الزراعة والأمن الغذائي وصيد الأسماك، منوها بوجود العديد من هذه الفرص التي يمكن استغلالها.
وقال الرئيس امباسوغو: “إن الأمر الأول الذي يبحث عنه المستثمر هو الأمن والسلم، وهنا نؤكد لكم أن غينيا الاستوائية تعيش في سلم وأمان، وندعو رجال الأعمال إلى المجيء إليها وتأسيس شركات مشتركة مع شركات غينية والاستثمار فيها”.
جاء ذلك خلال لقاء فخامته، والوفد المرافق له لعدد من أعضاء /غرفة قطر/ ورجال الأعمال القطريين، بفندق شيراتون الدوحة.
وتناول اللقاء سبل تعزيز علاقات التعاون التجاري والاستثماري بين البلدين الصديقين، كما استعرض الفرص المتاحة للاستثمار في غينيا الاستوائية، والمحفزات التي توفرها للمستثمرين الأجانب ودور القطاع الخاص في تعزيز الاستثمارات والتبادلات التجارية.
وأشاد فخامة رئيس غينيا الاستوائية بالعلاقات بين بلاده ودولة قطر، لافتا إلى توقيع اتفاقية تأسيس علاقات دبلوماسية بين البلدين مؤخرا مما يعكس رغبتهما في تعزيز العلاقات في مختلف المجالات بما يفيد شعبي البلدين.
واستعرض الرئيس امباسوغو مناخ الاستثمار في بلاده، لافتا إلى أنه تم تأسيس برنامج لتشجيع الاستثمار كما تم إعداد خطط للتنويع الاقتصادي، فضلا عن تأسيس نافذة واحدة لتأسيس الشركات وإقامة الاستثمارات، مشيرا إلى أن بلاده تسعى إلى الاستفادة من تجربة دولة قطر في مجال التنويع الاقتصادي.
ومن جانبه، رحب السيد محمد بن أحمد بن طوار الكواري النائب الأول لرئيس غرفة قطر، برئيس غينيا الاستوائية والوفد المرافق، معربا عن ثقته بأن هذا اللقاء سيسهم في استكشاف آفاق جديدة لتعزيز التعاون والشراكة بين الجانبين، وفتح المجال أمام المستثمرين القطريين للتعرف على الفرص الاستثمارية الواعدة التي تزخر بها جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية.
وأشار ابن طوار إلى وجود اهتمام مشترك لتعزيز أواصر التعاون بين البلدين والذي ظهر جليا من خلال توقيع البلدين مؤخرا على بيان مشترك لإقامة علاقات دبلوماسية بينهما، والذي يأتي في إطار سعي دولة قطر وحرصها على الانفتاح بشكل أكبر على الدول الإفريقية، وزيادة استثماراتها في القارة السمراء التي تزخر بالكثير من الفرص الاستثمارية بما يحقق المصالح لمختلف الأطراف، خصوصا فيما يتصل بالاستثمار وتنشيط الاقتصاد.
وأوضح أن القطاع الخاص القطري يتطلع إلى أن تسهم هذه الخطوة في تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي والتجاري بين البلدين، لا سيما وأن حجم التبادل التجاري بينهما ما يزال ضعيفا ولا يرقى لمستوى الطموحات، خاصة وأن البلدين يمتلكان إمكانيات هائلة للتعاون المشترك وهناك مجالات كثيرة للتعاون بينهما.
وأكد النائب الأول لرئيس الغرفة اهتمام دولة قطر بتعزيز الأمن الغذائي من خلال التركيز على المشروعات الزراعية والصناعات الغذائية، وقال في هذا الصدد إنه يمكن للجانبين التعاون في هذا المجال، خاصة وأن جمهورية غينيا الاستوائية تزخر بفرص كبيرة في هذا القطاع الحيوي وكذلك في قطاعات أخرى مثل النفط والبنية التحتية، منوها بأن غرفة قطر تدعم وتشجع أصحاب الأعمال والمستثمرين القطريين على استكشاف الفرص المتاحة في غينيا والاستثمار فيها، كما أنها على استعداد لمساعدة أصحاب الأعمال والمستثمرين من جمهورية غينيا الراغبين في إنشاء مشاريع مباشرة أو مشتركة في قطر.
ومن جهته، قال المهندس علي بن عبداللطيف المسند عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة قطر، إن القطاع الخاص القطري يأمل أن تحقق هذه الزيارة مزيدا من التعاون وفقا لتطلعات قيادتي البلدين، لافتا إلى أن الجانب القطري مستعد لمشاركة تجاربه الناجحة مع الجانب الغيني للاستفادة منها، مقترحا أن يتم توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين غرفتي البلدين تفتح المجال للقطاع الخاص فيهما لمزيد من التعاون.
