Projects threatened with bankruptcy due to excavations

Doha: A number of citizens entrepreneurs in Al Wakra city and a number of other areas of the state called on the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) to speed up the implementation of infrastructure projects in these areas, where work began more than two years ago, which resulted in serious damage to their public interests after traffic paralysis, daily congestion and lack of parking, which hinders access to services and the provision of daily life requirements easily, as well as the decline of business due to closures and excavations in front of shops, considering that this delay and slow delivery of the road is unjustified in light of the availability of all the necessary resources.

Citizens confirmed that movement in a number of areas where work was being carried out by Ashghal had become almost impossible after roads were closed and alternative roads were narrowed and paralysed at peak times. A number of entrepreneurs complained about the decline in their business and business movement due to works projects, which greatly affected the demand rates for their stores located throughout Doha, due to the lack of access for consumers and the lack of parking, revealing that some of them closed their projects after the heavy losses suffered and failed even to cover monthly expenses of rents and salaries of employees, despite their reliance on e-commerce sites and applications, which do not meet the end in all sectors.

الدوحة: دعا عدد من المواطنين رواد الأعمال بمدينة الوكرة وعدد من المناطق الأخرى بالدولة هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” إلى تسريع وتيرة تنفيذ مشاريع البنية التحتية في هذه المناطق والتي بدأت فيها الأعمال قبل أكثر من عامين، الأمر الذي نتجت عنه أضرار بالغة على مصالحهم العامة بعد شلل الحركة المرورية والازدحامات اليومية وعدم وجود مواقف للسيارات، الأمر الذي يعوق الوصول للخدمات وتوفير المتطلبات الحياتية اليومية بسهولة، علاوة على تراجع الأعمال التجارية بسبب الاغلاقات والحفريات أمام المحلات، معتبرين أن هذا التأخير والبطء في تسليم الطريق لا مبرر له في ظل توفر كل الإمكانات اللازمة.

وأكد مواطنون أن الحركة في عدد من المناطق التي تعمل عليها أشغال أصبحت شبه مستحيلة بعد غلق الطرق وضيق الطرق البديلة التي تصاب بشلل في أوقات الذروة. فيما اشتكى عدد من رواد الأعمال من تراجع أعمالهم وحركتهم التجارية بسبب مشاريع أشغال والتي أثرت كثيرا على نسب الإقبال على محلاتهم المتواجدة في مختلف أرجاء الدوحة، بسبب تعذر وصول المستهلكين إليها وعدم وجود مواقف للسيارات، كاشفين عن إقدام البعض منهم على إغلاق مشاريعهم بعد الخسائر الكبيرة التي لحقت بهم وفشلهم حتى في تغطية المصاريف الشهرية من إيجارات ورواتب موظفين، بالرغم من استنادهم على مواقع وتطبيقات التجارة الإلكترونية، التي لا تلبي الغاية في جميع القطاعات.
