The Beauty of Nature Meets Artistic Creations on Qatar’s Beaches

Doha: The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has inaugurated several Galleries of Beaches, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and sponsored by Seashore Group.

On this occasion, Design Advisor at Ashghal Eng. Sara Kafood, said: “the galleries that we have unveiled today highlight our full commitment and responsibility towards environment and remind beach visitors about the importance of preserving it. Through its projects comprising green spaces, trees coexisting with the local environment, and the implementation of pedestrian and cycling paths.” “Ashghal has succeeded in contributing to achieving balance between human beings and the environment, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030,” she added.

For his part, Director of Al Shamal Municipality Hamad Jumaa Al Mannai said: “the development of beaches in cooperation with Ashghal aims to increase the service and recreational facilities that contribute to promoting the welfare of the community members, and we are delighted to add an artistic touch to these beaches, by a number of local and resident artists.”

Director of Al Daayen Municipality Rashid Mashlash Al Khayarin, said: “the beaches are witnessing many visitors, especially due to the holidays season. Therefore, adding artwork during this time will contribute to enriching the experience of the citizens as well as visitors who consider these beaches as a recreational outlet.” In the same context, General Director of the Municipalities of Al Khor and Al Thakhira Eng. Abdulla Ibrahim Al Sada expressed his happiness towards the artworks that beautified the beaches and added an aesthetic and artistic value to them, calling for all beach visitors to visit and enjoy them, while keeping them clean.

General Director of Al Wakra Municipality Eng. Mohammed Hassan Al Nuaimi, said: “we are delighted that a number of artworks are inaugurated in several beaches that we have developed in cooperation with Ashghal, to contribute together in raising environmental awareness whether through artwork galleries, or different events, as environment protection is a responsibility of all entities that is achieved by the cooperation of community members.”

Whereas Design Engineer at Ashghal Hessa Al Kaabi, said: “the artworks and photography provided by a group of local and resident artists and professional photographers contribute to adding an exceptional art imprint on beaches, especially since the units used to display the artworks were made from recycled materials, in addition to the renovation of old wooden boats to turn them into aesthetic art pieces that add a unique splendor.”

“Most artworks presented highlight the local environment, whereas other artworks reflect Qatars cultural and heritage monuments, and the rest reflect local and international sport events,” she added.

Design Engineer at Ashghal Mariam Al Mannai, stated: “the beaches that have been developed by Ashghal in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality have provided a creative environment for the artists, enabling them to present a number of artworks that are able to create an enriched art experience for the beach visitors, as well as highlight the talents of the local and resident artists, in addition to their role in promoting social environmental values.”

الدوحة: دشنت هيئة الأشغال العامة أشغال، اليوم، عددا من معارض الأعمال الفنية المرتبطة بالبيئة في مجموعة من الشواطئ بالتعاون مع وزارة البلدية.

وقالت المهندسة سارة كافود استشاري تصميم بهيئة الأشغال العامة، إن المعارض الفنية التي تم الكشف عنها، تسلط الضوء على التزامنا التام ومسؤوليتنا تجاه البيئة، لتذكر مرتادي الشواطئ بأهمية الحفاظ عليها، وقد نجحت الهيئة من خلال مشروعاتها التي تضم مسطحات خضراء وأشجار متعايشة مع البيئة القطرية ومسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية في المساهمة في تحقيق التوازن بين الإنسان والبيئة تماشيا مع رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.

من جهته، قال السيد حمد جمعة المناعي مدير بلدية الشمال، إن “الهدف من تطوير الشواطئ بالتعاون مع هيئة الأشغال العامة هو زيادة المرافق الخدمية والترفيهية للمساهمة في تعزيز رفاهية أفراد المجتمع، ويسعدنا أن نضيف لتلك الشواطئ لمسة فنية من خلال عدد من الفنانين المواطنين والمقيمين”.

أما السيد راشد مشلش الخيارين مدير عام بلدية الظعاين فقال: “تشهد الشواطئ إقبالا كبيرا من الزوار خاصة مع حلول العطلة الصيفية وموسم الإجازات، لذلك فإن إضافة الأعمال الفنية عليها في هذا التوقيت سوف يساهم بدوره في إثراء تجربة سكان الدولة وضيوفها ممن يتخذون من الشواطئ متنفسا ترفيهيا”.

وفي ذات السياق، قال المهندس عبدالله إبراهيم السادة مدير عام بلدية الخور والذخيرة، إن الأعمال الفنية زينت الشواطئ وساهمت في إضافة قيمة فنية وجمالية لها، داعيا مرتادي الشواطئ إلى زيارتها والاستمتاع بها، والمساهمة في الحفاظ عليها وعلى نظافتها.

من ناحيته، أكد المهندس محمد حسن النعيمي مدير عام بلدية الوكرة، أن تدشين الأعمال الفنية في عدد من الشواطئ يساهم في نشر الوعي البيئي سواء من خلال معارض الأعمال الفنية أو الفعاليات المختلفة، فحماية البيئة مسؤولية مشتركة لكافة الجهات بالتعاون مع أفراد المجتمع.

بدورها، قالت حصة الكعبي مهندسة تصميم بـ “أشغال” إن الأعمال الفنية التي قدمتها نخبة من الفنانين القطريين والمقيمين تساهم في إضافة بصمة فنية مميزة على الشواطئ، خاصة وأن الوحدات المستخدمة لعرض الأعمال الفنية تم صنعها من مواد معاد تدويرها، بالإضافة إلى إعادة إحياء القوارب الخشبية القديمة وتحويلها إلى أعمال تجميلية تضيف رونقا خاصا، وتسلط أغلب الأعمال المعروضة الضوء على البيئة المحلية، بالإضافة إلى بعض الأعمال التي تبرز المعالم التراثية والثقافية للدولة، وأعمال أخرى تعكس أحداثا رياضية على الصعيد المحلي والدولي.

من جانبها، قالت مريم المناعي مهندسة تصميم بـ “أشغال”: “ساهمت الشواطئ التي قامت الهيئة بتطويرها بالتعاون مع وزارة البلدية بتزويد الفنانين ببيئة إبداعية ساعدتهم على تقديم عدد من الأعمال الفنية التي تثري تجربة مرتاديها وتخلق تجربة فنية فريدة لجميع أفراد المجتمع، كما تسلط تلك الأعمال الضوء على مواهب الفنانين من مواطنين ومقيمين، فضلا عن دورها في تعزيز القيم المجتمعية البيئية”.
