Qatar to unveil fourth FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium on National Day

Doha: Qatar will unveil Al Rayyan Stadium, fourth FIFA World Cup 2022 venue, on Qatar National Day, which falls on December 18, staging the Amir Cup final.

Qatar Football Association said on a post on social media that “Amir Cup 2020 final between Al Arabi and Al Sadd will be played at the new Al Rayyan Stadium on December 18.”

This is the fourth World Cup 2022 stadium to be unveiled after refurbished Khalifa International stadium, Al Janoub stadium and Education City stadium.

The 40,000-capacity stadium will host matches up to and including the round of 16 stage during Qatar 2022.

The stadium’s most striking feature is a glowing façade, comprised of patterns that characterise different aspects of the country: the importance of family, the beauty of the desert, the native flora and fauna, and local and international trade. A fifth shape, a shield, brings together all the others, representing the strength and unity that is particularly relevant to the city of Al Rayyan.

Fans will be able to reach the venue using the Doha Metro. Al Riffa station, on the Green Line, is within walking distance of the stadium.

The precinct will feature an array of sporting facilities, including cricket pitches, football pitches, a children’s playground, outdoor gym facilities, an aquatics centre, tennis courts, a skate park and athletics track. In addition, there will be landscaped parks, cafes and walkways, in addition to the Mall of Qatar, which opened in 2016 and is adjacent to the stadium.

الدوحة: يستضيف استاد الريان، أحد الاستادات الثمانية التي ستحتضن بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، المباراة النهائية لكأس سمو الأمير المفدى لكرة القدم، التي ستجمع بين فريقي السد والعربي في 18 ديسمبر المقبل.

وقالت اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، في تغريدة اليوم، على حسابها بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي /تويتر/، إن “مقر نادي الريان المستقبلي سيستضيف نهائي كأس الأمير في 18 ديسمبر بين السد والعربي”.

ويأتي هذا الإعلان عن الاستاد الذي سيحتضن إقامة النهائي بين السد والعربي، متزامنا مع بدء العد التنازلي لانطلاق أول مونديال في الوطن العربي والشرق الأوسط، من المقرر أن ينطلق في 21 نوفمبر 2022.

وتبلغ الطاقة الاستيعابية لاستاد الريان 40 ألف مشجع، وجرى تشييده في موقع استاد أحمد بن علي، وسيستضيف سبع مباريات في مونديال قطر 2022 من مرحلة المجموعات حتى دور الستة عشر.

ومن المقرر خفض الطاقة الاستيعابية للاستاد إلى النصف بعد تفكيك الطبقة العلوية من مقاعده عقب إسدال الستار على منافسات المونديال، والتبرع بـ20 ألف مقعد لإنشاء بنية تحتية لرياضة كرة القدم في قطر وخارجها، ليصبح الاستاد بعدها مقرا لنادي الريان الرياضي العريق، أحد أشهر الأندية في دوري نجوم قطر.

يشار إلى أن استاد الريان يمتاز بواجهته الخارجية المتوهجة التي تتألف من أشكال مميزة تعكس جوانب مختلفة من شخصية البلاد، إذ ترمز إلى أهمية الأسرة، وجمال الصحراء، وما تزخر به من حياة برية، إلى جانب الأنشطة التجارية المحلية والدولية، ويجمع كل هذه العناصر معا شكل خامس على هيئة درع يرمز إلى قيم القوة والوحدة التي يفخر بها أهل قطر.
