Threats to millions of Dell computers around the world

London: SentinelLabs experts have warned of software loopholes that could threaten the data security of millions of Dell computers in various countries around the world. Experts at the company noted that they had discovered five software vulnerabilities they described as extremely dangerous in Dell’s software update operator.

They noted that the software update operator exists in the hundreds of millions of Dell computers that have been introduced worldwide since 2009. According to experts, the gaps in CVE-2021-21551 can be exploited to access the nuclei of computer operating systems and data, or obtain permissions to remotely control these systems.

SentinelLabs noted that it has informed Dell of the gaps discovered, the latter is working to address the problem through software updates, and warning messages are sent to users and organizations whose devices may be affected.

Dell is one of the world’s most famous brands selling millions of laptops, desktops and server systems annually to consumers and businesses alike.

وأشارت SentinelLabs إلى أنها أبلغت Dell بالثغرات المكتشفة، وتعمل الأخيرة على معالجة المشكلة عبر تحديثات برمجية، كما يتم إرسال رسائل تحذيرية للمستخدمين والمؤسسات التي قد تتأثر أجهزتها بذلك. وتعد Dell واحدة من أشهر العلامات التجارية في العالم التي تبيع الملايين من أجهزة الكمبيوتر المحمولة والكمبيوترات المكتبية وأنظمة الخوادم سنويًا للمستهلكين والشركات على حدٍ سواء.
