QRCS Continues Ramadan Campaign in Asia and Africa

Doha: Many projects have been implemented by the foreign representation missions of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) during the holy month of Ramadan, as part of its Ramadan Campaign 1442 A.H., under the theme of “Race to All That Is Good”.

In Jordan, food purchase vouchers were distributed by QRCS and Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) to 2,655 families from Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities in Amman, Irbid, and Mafraq, to improve their food security. There were certain criteria to select and prioritize the beneficiaries, who included 5,562 males, 5,562 females, and 7,955 children.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development in Gaza, QRCS’s office is distributing 2,231 food parcels to the poorest families of the blockade, at a cost of $150,000. The beneficiaries were selected as per the standards of the National Program for Assistance of Poorest Families. The project will hopefully secure the food needs of the target families.

Westward to the West Bank, the number of beneficiaries from the food parcels distributed under the Ramadan Iftar project was 3,720 families, or 22,320 persons, in northern, central, and southern parts of the West Bank, at a cost of $249,408.

To improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese families in Bekaa and Baalbek, QRCS and the Lebanese Red Cross executed the following three projects which are Ramadan Iftar, Zakat-ul-Fitr and Eid Clothing. Ramadan Iftar: Food parcels for 1,390 Syrian families and 1,397 Lebanese families. Zakat-ul-Fitr: Food purchase coupons for 984 Syrian families and 962 Lebanese families. Eid Clothing: Cash coupons for 337 Syrian families and 310 Lebanese families in Mount Lebanon Governorate to purchase new clothes for their children.

The volunteers of the Red Crescent Society of Kyrgyzstan distributed $20,000 worth of food items as purchase coupons of consumer goods to 1,000 families in the regions of Bishkek, Chuy, Talas, Naryn, Issyk-Kul, and Jalal-Abad.

Special focus was given to the poor elderly, orphaned children at social care and rehabilitation centers, persons with disability, families headed by females, patients with tuberculosis, families of migrant and/or low-income laborers, and low-income families with children.

Moving to Africa, a Ramadan Iftar project was implemented in Somalia, in coordination with the local authorities, at a cost of $945,000. Over two days, QRCS distributed food parcels to 2,800 families, or 16,800 persons, at the camps of internally displaced people (IDPs) in Daynile District, west to the capital city of Mogadishu.

All distributions were strictly subject to preventive measures, with the recipients divided into groups to avoid crowding. Masks and sanitizers were distributed, and hand washing posts were prepared.

The local authorities valued QRCS’s efforts to provide assistance for the new IDPs, amid the current economic and health challenges that increase the number of affected people, particularly the displaced and poor families.

In Mali, $365,000 food parcels were distributed, weighing in total 72 tons of food items, for the benefit of 1,020 families (5,100 persons). These provisions will enhance their food and health conditions, which will reflect positively on their work, study, and everyday life activities.

الدوحة: أعلن الهلال الأحمر القطري، عن مواصلته تقديم مشاريع إفطار الصائم وزكاة الفطر التي يعكف على تنفيذها منذ بداية شهر رمضان المبارك من خلال مكاتبه وبعثاته الخارجية، وذلك ضمن أنشطة حملته الرمضانية لعام 1442هـ تحت شعار “فاستبقوا الخيرات”، اتساقا مع توجهه الاستراتيجي لبث روح التكافل والروابط الأخوية بين جميع الأشقاء في الإنسانية.

والبداية في الأردن، حيث تم بالشراكة مع الهلال الأحمر الأردني توزيع قسائم مشتريات غذائية على 2,655 أسرة من اللاجئين السوريين والأسر الأردنية الضعيفة في أماكن تجمع اللاجئين مثل محافظات عمان وإربد والمفرق، للمساهمة في تحسين واقع الأمن الغذائي لهم خلال شهر الصيام.

وفي قطاع غزة، بدأ مكتب الهلال الأحمر القطري في توزيع 2,231 سلة إفطار صائم على العائلات الأشد فقرا في القطاع، بتكلفة إجمالية قدرها 150 ألف دولار، وذلك بالتعاون مع وزارة التنمية الاجتماعية، وتم اختيار المستفيدين بناء على معايير البرنامج الوطني لمساعدة الأسر الأشد فقرا، ومن شأن هذا المشروع أن يساهم في سد الاحتياجات الغذائية لهذه الأسر.

وبالمثل في الضفة الغربية، فقد بلغ عدد المستفيدين من السلات الغذائية الموزعة ضمن مشروع إفطار الصائم 3,720 أسرة، تضم حوالي 22 ألفا و320 شخصا في جميع مناطق شمال ووسط وجنوب الضفة، بميزانية بلغت 249 ألفا و408 دولارات.

وشهد لبنان تنفيذ 3 مشاريع للمساهمة في تحسين معيشة الأسر السورية واللبنانية الأشد ضعفا في أماكن تجمع اللاجئين مثل البقاع وبعلبك، وهي مشاريع إفطار الصائم وزكاة الفطر وكسوة العيد، والتي شملت توزيع سلات غذائية لإفطار 1,390 أسرة سورية و1,397 أسرة لبنانية، وتوزيع قسائم مشتريات غذائية على 984 أسرة سورية و962 أسرة لبنانية من حصيلة زكاة الفطر.

أما المشروع الثالث فهو مشروع كسوة العيد في محافظة جبل لبنان، وتم من خلال توزيع قسائم مالية على 337 أسرة سورية و310 أسر لبنانية لشراء الملابس الجديدة التي تسعد بها قلوب الأطفال في يوم العيد، وتم تنفيذ المشاريع الثلاثة بالتعاون ما بين بعثة الهلال الأحمر القطري في لبنان والصليب الأحمر اللبناني.

وفي قرغيزيا، وبالتنسيق مع الهلال الأحمر القرغيزي قام متطوعوه بتوزيع ما قيمته 20 ألف دولار من المواد الغذائية في صورة قسائم مشتريات سلع استهلاكية لفائدة 1,000 أسرة موزعة ما بين العاصمة بيشكيك ومدن تشويوتالاس ونارين وإيسيك كول وجلال أباد (بمعدل 125 أسرة في كل منطقة)، مع التركيز على الفقراء من كبار السن، والأطفال الأيتام في مؤسسات الرعاية الاجتماعية ومراكز إعادة التأهيل، والأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، والأسر التي تعيلها نساء، ومرضى السل، وأسر العمال المهاجرين وذوي الدخل المنخفض، والأسر منخفضة الدخل التي لديها أطفال.

وعلى صعيد القارة الأفريقية، تم تنفيذ مشروع إفطار الصائم في الصومال بالتنسيق مع السلطات المحلية وبتكلفة قدرها 945 ألف ريال.

فعلى مدار يومين، وزع الهلال الأحمر القطري سلات غذائية رمضانية على 2,800 أسرة بمتوسط 16 ألفا و800 شخص في مخيمات النازحين بمنطقة داي نيلي غرب العاصمة الصومالية مقديشو.

وقد تمت عملية التوزيع على المستفيدين بصورة منظمة وفقا للإجراءات الاحترازية، وتم توزيع الأسر على مجموعات لمنع التجمعات والازدحام، كما قام الفريق الميداني بتوزيع الكمامات والمعقمات، بالإضافة إلى تخصيص أماكن لغسل الأيدي.

ومن جهتها، ثمنت السلطات المحلية جهود الهلال الأحمر القطري بتقديم تلك المساعدات الإنسانية للنازحين الجدد، في ظل التحديات الاقتصادية والصحية الراهنة التي تسببت في زيادة عدد المتضررين، وتحديدا من الأسر النازحة والفقيرة.

وكان لجمهورية مالي نصيب من مشروع إفطار الصائم هذا العام، من خلال توزيع سلات غذائية رمضانية بقيمة 365 ألف ريال وبوزن إجمالي يتجاوز 72 طنا من المواد الغذائية، وذلك لفائدة 1020 أسرة تضم حوالي 5,100 شخص، من أجل تحسين الوضع الغذائي والصحي لهم، مما يكون له الأثر الإيجابي على نشاطاتهم اليومية في العمل والدراسة.
