20 years in prison and a fine of 200 thousand riyals for hashish dealers

Doha: The Criminal Court sentenced two defendants to 20 years in prison, fined 200,000 riyals each and confiscated banned seized items.

Prosecutors had charged two people with acquiring and selling marijuana with intent to trade in unauthorized conditions, and had obtained hashish and ampitaline with intent to use.

The police arrested the accused in an ambush after they offered an undercover police source to buy a banned narcotic substance, the source went along with them with the intention of arresting them. The accused contacted the secret source, and when the deal took place, the police raided the accused.

The banned substance was estimated at more than 3 kilograms and placed in bags away from the eyes of the police.

الدوحة: قضت محكمة الجنايات بمعاقبة متهمين بالحبس لمدة 20 سنة، وتغريم كل منهما 200 ألف ريال، ومصادرة المواد المضبوطة المحظورة.

وكانت النيابة العامة قد اتهمت شخصين بأنهما حازا وأحرزا وباعا نبات الماريجوانا بقصد الاتجار في غير الأحوال المرخص بها، وحازا وأحرزا مادتي الحشيش والأمفيتالين بقصد التعاطي.

وقد ضبطت الشرطة المتهمين في كمين بعد أن عرضا على مصدر سري يتبع للشرطة شراء مادة مخدرة محظورة، فتمت مجاراتهما بقصد ضبطهما. واتصل المتهمان بالمصدر السري، وعندما تمت عملية البيع داهمت الشرطة المتهمين.

وقدرت المادة المحظورة بأكثر من 3 كيلوجرامات وضعت داخل أكياس بعيداً عن أعين الشرطة.
