Ooredoo drives business innovation with hackathon winners

DOHA: Ooredoo, one of the region’s leading ICT providers, is driving business innovation with the winners of its Battlefield Hackathon, including an “Office in a Box” for small businesses, an intelligent chatbot, and an artificial intelligence-backed network management solution.

As part of Ooredoo’s commitment to employee enablement, talent development, and innovative business solutions, the company sponsored this adrenaline-packed 8-hour-long internal hackathon to foster the development of innovative business solutions.

Nine teams of innovators, designers, and developers made of Ooredoo employees competed in three categories: financial capabilities related to the Ooredoo Mobile wallet, operational excellence for next-generation digital experiences, and security ideas for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

Yousuf Abdulla Al Kubaisi, COO Ooredoo Qatar, said: “Our largest-ever Battlefield Hackathon shows the strength of Qatar’s talent in developing solutions to solve the business challenges of tomorrow. By collaborating on creative solutions to business challenges, the participating teams now have the opportunity for their solutions to be incubated and brought to market by Ooredoo”.

The first-place team, Transformers 1, won QR10,000 for its “Office in the Box” solution aimed for small- and medium-sized enterprises to open new sales channels using services running on Ooredoo’s Qatar Data Centre.

Virtuality, the second-place team, won QR8,000 for its “Ooredoo Assistant,” which simplifies customer communication with an intelligent chatbot for personalising customer relationships.

In third place was the Phoenix team, which won QR5,000 for self-diagnosis and network performance of connected devices, leveraging the power of artificial intelligence and robotics. Al Kubaisi added: “Ooredoo’s Battlefield Hackathon underscores our role as a dynamic, agile, and innovative organisation that is supporting our Ooerdoo Family in developing new ideas and ways of thinking.

“In one day, these three winners developed breakthrough innovations that would normally take months to create”.

أعلنت Ooredoo اليوم، تقديم دعم جديد للابتكار في قطر بتوفير احتضان للفائزين بتحدي Battlefield Hackathon الذي اختتمته الشركة مؤخراً، وفاز فيه ابتكارات “المكتب في صندوق” وروبوت الدردشة وحلول إدارة الشبكة باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي.

وشارك بالتحدي 9 فرق من المبتكرين والمصممين والمطورين من موظفي Ooredoo، تنافسوا خلاله في 3 مجالات هي حلول مالية من شأنها تطوير محفظة Ooredoo للجوال، والتميز التشغيلي من خلال دعم التجربة الرقمية للجيل القادم، والأفكار والمبادرات المتعلقة بالجانب الأمني للشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة.

وبهذا الصدد، قال يوسف عبدالله الكبيسي، رئيس العمليات في Ooredoo قطر: ” لقد شهدنا هذا العام أكبر تحدي Battlefield Hackathon على الإطلاق، ما يدل على أن قطر تزخر بالمواهب المتخصصة بإيجاد حلول تساعد الشركات على الدخول في المستقبل بكل سهولة وسلاسة، فمن خلال تعاونهم لابتكار الحلول التي تساعد الشركات على تجاوز العقبات التي تواجهها، أصبحت لدى الفرق المشاركة الفرصة لتوفير احتضان لأفكارهم وحلولهم بهدف تطويرها ثم طرحها بالسوق، وكل ذلك بدعم من Ooredoo.”

وفاز بالمركز الأول بالتحدي وجائزة 10000 ريال فريق Transformers 1 عن حلول “المكتب في صندوق” الذي صمم لخدمة الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة ومساعدتها على فتح قنوات بيع جديدة لها، ودعم مبيعاتها عبر الخدمات التي يوفرها مركز Ooredoo للبيانات.

أما المركز الثاني وجائزة 8000 فذهب إلى فريق Virtuality عن حلول Ooredoo Assistant التي تعمل على تبسيط المعلومات من وإلى العملاء عبر روبوت دردشة ذكي يقدم تجربة مصممة شخصياً حسب كل عميل.

في حين فاز بالمركز الثالث وجائزة 5000 ريال فريق Phoenix بعد أن طوروا عملية التشخيص الذاتي وأداء الشبكة بناء على المعلومات الواردة من الأجهزة المتصلة، واستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي والروبوتات لدراسة الأنماط ورفع الكفاءة.
