Seatbelt and mobile violations begin to be enforced through traffic cams

Doha: Colonel Mohammed Radhi al-Hajri, director of the Traffic Awareness Department of the General Traffic Department, said in an interview with Qatar TV’s Al-Ghabqa program that work is under way to monitor seat belt and use of phone while driving violations through the cameras of the “Tala” project.

The project aims to monitor traffic violations of all kinds, such as failure to fasten the seat belt, talking on the phone while driving, wrong overtaking, excessive speed, driving slowly, running a traffic light and other violations that pose a threat to public safety on the road, which contributes significantly to tightening security control within all areas of the country, facilitating traffic and monitoring any traffic violation in a timely manner.

It is worth mentioning that the fine for traffic violation relating to the driver of the vehicle or passenger failing to fasten the seatbelt while driving is QR 500, and that the fine for the violation related to the use of mobile and sending messages while driving is QR 500.

الدوحة: قال العقيد محمد راضي الهاجري مدير إدارة التوعية المرورية بالإدارة العامة للمرور في حديث لبرنامج الغبقة على تلفزيون قطر، إنه يتم العمل حالياً على رصد مخالفات حزام الأمان واستخدام الهاتف أثناء القيادة عن طريق كاميرات مشروع “طلع”.

ويهدف المشروع إلى رصد المخالفات المرورية بكافة أنواعها من عدم ربط حزام الأمان او التحدث فى الهاتف أثناء القيادة او التجاوز الخاطئ او السرعة الزائدة او السير ببط او قطع الإشارة الضوئية وغيرها من المخالفات التي تشكل خطرا على السلامة العامة على الطريق مما يسهم بصورة كبيرة في إحكام السيطرة الأمنية داخل كافة مناطق الدولة وتيسير الحركة المرورية ورصد أي مخالفة مرورية فى حينها.

ومن الجدير بالذكر أن غرامة المخالفة المرورية التي تتعلق بقيام سائق المركبة أو الراكب بعدم ارتداء الحزام الخاص بالأمان في أثناء السير هي 500 ريال، وأن غرامة المخالفة التي تتعلق باستخدام الجوال وإرسال الرسائل أثناء القيادة هي 500 ريال.
