Qatar Consulate in Istanbul issues statement on complete lockdown

Doha: The Consulate General of Qatar-Istanbul issued a statement drawing the attention of citizens wishing to visit or are present in Istanbul that on the basis of the decisions announced by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a complete lockdown was imposed from Thursday, April 29, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021.

In a statement posted on its Twitter account, the consulate explained that the lockdown would be as follows:

• Impose a curfew between cities.
• Restaurant services are limited to orders and deliveries only.
• Only health, cleaning and productive sectors are exempt from the lockdown.
• Intercity public transport is allowed to operate by only 50 per cent in specific cases.
• Face-to-face education will be suspended in all institutions, including kindergarten, 8th and 12th grades, and all tests will be postponed.
• Food stores (Markets) will be closed on Sundays.

The Turkish president announced yesterday the imposition of a nationwide general closure until May 17th, to reduce the rise in Coronavirus deaths and infections

Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Erdogan said all intercity trips would need approval from the authorities and that schooling would be limited to distance education, indicating that the manufacturing and food sectors would be excluded from the new restrictions, Reuters reported.

He stressed that the number of daily cases should drop to less than 5,000 by the end of Ramadan.

الدوحة: أصدرت القنصلية العامة لدولة قطر-اسطنبول بيانا لفتت فيه عناية المواطنين الراغبين بزيارة مدينة اسطنبول أو المتواجدين بها أنه بناء على القرارات التي أعلن عنها الرئيس التركي رجب طيب اردوغان فقد تم فرض حظر شامل اعتبارا من يوم الخميس الموافق لـ ٢٩ نيسان من الساعة السابعة مساء الى غاية الساعة الخامسة صباحا من يوم الاثنين ١٧ مايو ٢٠٢١.

وأوضحت القنصلية في البيان الذي نشرته على حسابها بموقع تويتر أن قرار الحظر سيكون على النحو التالي:

• فرض حظر التجوال بين المدن.
• تقتصر خدمات المطاعم على الطلبيات والتوصيل فقط
• يعفى من الحظر فقط قطاعات الصحة والتنظيف والقطاعات الانتاجية
• يسمح لوسائل النقل العام بين المدن بالعمل بنسبة 50 في المائة فقط في حالات محددة.
• سيتم تعليق التعليم وجها لوجه في جميع المؤسسات، بما في ذلك رياض الأطفال والصفين الثامن والثاني عشر، وسيتم تأجيل جميع الاختبارات.
• سيتم اغلاق محلات المواد الغذائية ايام الاحد (الجمعيات).

وكان الرئيس التركي قد أعلن أمس عن فرض إغلاق عام على مستوى البلاد حتى 17 مايو، للحد من ارتفاع حالات الوفاة والإصابة بفيروس كورونا.

وفي كلمة بعد اجتماع لمجلس الوزراء، قال أردوغان إن جميع الرحلات بين المدن ستحتاج إلى موافقة من السلطات وأن الدراسة في المدارس ستقتصر على التعليم عن بعد، مبينا أنه سيتم استثناء قطاعي التصنيع والغذاء من القيود الجديدة، وفقا لوكالة “رويترز”.

وشدد على أن أعداد الحالات اليومية يجب أن تنخفض إلى أقل من 5 آلاف بحلول نهاية شهر رمضان.
