Nasser al-Attiyah crowned in the 1st round of Tierras Altas Lorca Rally

Madrid: Qatar’s Nasser Saleh al-Attiyah was crowned in the first round of the 7-round Tierras Altas Lorca Rally with the participation of more than 100 racers

Al-Attiyah and his French navigator Matthew Pommel on board his Volkswagen Polo GTR5 succeeded in achieving first place after a strong competition and scored a time of (45:42.3) minutes, and Spanish driver Juan Solans and navigator Rodrigo Sanjuan in his car / Citroën came second and clocked a time of (45:48.5) minutes, while Spanish driver Suarez Mirand and his compatriot Alberto Aglesas came in third place in his Skoda Fabia, clocking a time of 46:18.7 minutes.

Nasser al-Attiyah said in a statement that he is happy to win this round, saying that his participation in the rally comes as part of his preparations for the upcoming entitlements, the most important of which is the rest of the Middle East Rally Championship 2021, and the World Cup of Long Distance Desert Rally (Cross Country).

He described the organization of the (Tierrace Altas Lorca) Spanish rally as good amid large participation, pointing out that the competition in it was strong and exciting, explaining that the course of the rally is different between clay land and gravel and asphalt, while confirming his participation in all rounds of the rally.

ونجح العطية وبرفقة ملاحه الفرنسي ماثيو بوميل على متن سيارته /فولكس واجن بولو جي تي آر5 / في إحراز المركز الأول بعد منافسة قوية وسجل زمنا وقدره ( 45:42.3) دقيقة ، وحل في المركز الثاني السائق الإسباني خوان سولانس وملاحه رودريغو سانجوان على متن سيارته /ستروين/ مسجلا زمنا وقدره ( 45:48.5) دقيقة ، بينما جاء في المركز الثالث السائق الإسباني سواريز ميراند وملاحه مواطنه البرتو اغليساس على متن سيارته /سكودا فابيا/ ، مسجلا زمناً وقدره ( 46:18.7) دقيقة .

وأعرب ناصر العطية في تصريح له عن سعادته بالفوز بهذه الجولة قائلا، إن مشاركته في الرالي تأتي ضمن استعداداته للاستحقاقات القادمة وأهمها ما تبقى من بطولة الشرق الأوسط للراليات 2021 ، و بطولة كأس العالم للراليات الصحراوية للمسافات الطويلة ( الكروس كانتري).

ووصف تنظيم رالي /تيراس التاس لوركا / الإسباني بأنه كان جيداً وسط مشاركة كبيرة ،مشيرا الى ان المنافسة فيه كانت قوية ومثيرة ،موضحا أن مسار الرالي مختلف بين أرض طينية وحصوية واسفلتية، ومؤكدا في الوقت نفسه مشاركته في جميع جولات الرالي.
