Prohibitively high prices of used car parts

Doha: Citizens called on the consumer protection sector of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to tighten control and enforce the law to reduce the high prices of the services of some of the Industrial Area’s garages.
They stressed to Al Raya that the prices of services and spare parts vary a lot between the garages of the industrial Area, where the prices of used spare parts in some garages reach the same prices as official car dealerships.
They called on customers to check the price of parts in the dealerships before purchasing used spare parts to ascert the price of the pieces, so that they would not fall into the trap of fraud and exploitation by some garages.
Some Scrap garages also sell dilapidated pieces, taking advantage of the inexperience of customers.
They noted that some car parts import companies have exploited the high prices of spare parts in the dealerships, in turn to raise prices, where the headlight of a Japanese SUV, for example, in Qatar is sold for 1200 riyals, compared to 450 riyals in neighboring countries, and they wondered why traders raise their prices in this way without the concerned authorities holding them accountable and obliging them to appropriate prices.

الدوحة: دعا مُواطنون قطاعَ حماية المُستهلك بوزارة التجارة والصناعة، لتشديد الرقابة وتفعيل القانون للحدّ من ارتفاع أسعار خدمات بعض كراجات المنطقة الصناعية.
وأكّدوا لـ الراية أنّ أسعار الخدمات وقطع الغيارمتباينة جداً بين كراجات المنطقة الصناعية، حيث تصل اسعار قطع الغيار المستعملة في بعض الكراجات لنفس أسعارها بالوكالات المعتمدة للسيارات.
ودعوا الزبائن إلى لتأكّد من سعر القطع في الوكالات قبل شراء قطع الغيار المستعملة حتى لا يقعوا في فخّ الاحتيال والاستغلال من جانب بعض الكراجات. كما أن بعض كراجات «السكراب» تبيع قطعًا متهالكة مستغلة عدم خبرة الزبائن.
ونوهوا باستغلالِ بعض شركاتِ استيراد قطع غيار السيّارات الارتفاعَ الكبير في أسعار قطع الغيار بالوكالات، لتقوم بدورها برفع الأسعار، حيث يُباع المصباح الأمامي لسيارة دفع رباعي يابانية مثلًا في قطر بـ 1200 ريال، مقارنة بـ 450 ريالًا في الدول المجاورة، وتساءلوا عن الأسباب التي تدفع التجارَ لرفع أسعارهم بهذه الصورة دون قيام الجهة المعنية بمساءلتهم وإلزامهم بوضع بالأسعار المُناسبة.
