Urgent solutions are required to reduce the traffic on Al-Khaleej Street

Doha: A number of Al-Khaleej Street users complained about the suffocating traffic on the road, which extends for hundreds of metres. They emphasized that the traffic signals contributed to the increase in the rate of congestion, especially since the timing of the traffic lights on the street is short and does not allow the passage of large numbers of cars coming toward Al-Jaidah Bridge.
“Al-Khaleej Street is one of the narrow streets compared to its great importance for most of the residents of Doha. It also includes hundreds of residential towers and companies in its surroundings, in addition to a commercial complex,” They added, noting that Bin Mahmoud and Msheireb Streets, located in the vicinity of the road, are overcrowded areas and suffer from continuous congestion throughout the day.
They also pointed out the seriousness of the lack of emergency lanes in most parts of the road, as cars that are exposed to traffic accidents stop in the middle of the road and obstruct traffic for a long time.

الدوحة: اشتكَى عددٌ من مُستخدمي شارع الخليج من الزحام المروري الخانق على الطريق والذي يمتد مئات الأمتار. مؤكدين أن الإشارات المرورية ساهمت في رفع معدل الزحام، لا سيما أن توقيت الإشارة الضوئية على الشارع يعتبر قصيرًا ولا يسمح بمرور الأعداد الكبيرة من السيارات القادمة باتجاه جسر الجيدة.
وأضافوا: “شارع الخليج من الشوارع الضيقة مقارنة بأهميته الكبيرة لمعظم سكان مدينة الدوحة، كما يضم في محيطه مئات الأبراج السكنية والشركات بالإضافة إلى مجمع تجاري”، مشيرين إلى أن شوارع بن محمود ومشيرب، الواقعة في محيط الطريق تعتبر مناطق مكتظة بالسكان والشركات وتعاني من ازدحام متواصل طوال ساعات اليوم.
وأشاروا إلى خطورة عدم توفر مسارات للطوارئ في معظم أجزاء الطريق، حيث أن السيارات التي تتعرض للحوادث المرورية تقف وسط الطريق وتعرقل حركة السير لوقت طويل.
