Ministry of Public Health records a new death from the Coronavirus and 1130 new cases

Ministry of Public Health announces the registration of 1130 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 129 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the State of Qatar to 2499. The Ministry also announces one new death from the virus.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 21331 and there are 18819 active cases under treatment. So far, 13 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 4096 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 124554 tests.
The Ministry explains that most of the new cases are due to expatriate workers who have been infected with the virus as a result of contact with individuals who have been previously infected, in addition to recording new cases from within groups of workers from various regions. These cases have been identified as a result of investigations carried out by the Ministry.
There was also an increase in the number of infections among citizens and residents who had contact with COVID-19 positive family members, who had in turn been infected at the workplace or other locations. All the new infected cases have been quarantined where they are receiving the necessary medical care.
The Ministry reports that the new death was a 52-year-old resident who had received the medical care in the Intensive Care Unit and was suffering from chronic diseases. The Ministry of Public Health offers sincere condolences and great sympathy to the family of the deceased.
The Ministry of Public Health has launched a community survey to learn more about how the virus is transmitted within the community and gain more understanding of cases of infection that do not show symptoms of the disease.
Through drive through survey centers, invited participants complete a questionnaire. Last week, tests were conducted for 2500 people who received an invitation to participate in the community questionnaire, which aims to better understand the transmission of the virus in the community and thus adapt the response of stakeholders.
This questionnaire is expected to continue during the coming period, and the Ministry encourages people who receive an invitation to respond and participate in this initiative in order to contribute to the national efforts to combat the virus and to understand more about the epidemiology of transmission of infection between members of society.
The Ministry of Public Health notes that the current period is considered to be the peak stage in the virus outbreak when numbers may continue to rise before they begin to stabilize and then gradually decline.
The reasons for the high numbers of new cases are due to the Ministry’s redoubling of its efforts in tracking the transitional chains of the virus and expanding the circle of searching for infected people through intensive and proactive investigations of large numbers of contacts with people who have been confirmed with the virus recently.
The Ministry of Public Health notes that the number of daily examinations that it conducts on people depends primarily on the number of contacts with individuals confirmed to be infected with the virus, as it conducts random checks in different places of the country as a proactive measure. The number of tests performed daily is not linked to the number of cases detected in terms of any rise or fall.
The Ministry of Public Health calls on all members of society to stay at home and not go out except in cases of necessity and to implement preventive measures and maintain physical distancing, including in the workplace and public places. The Ministry reminds people to use a face mask as recommended and avoid social visits to reduce their risk of contracting the virus.

أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة اليوم عن تسجيل 1130 حالة إصابة جديدة مؤكدة بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، وتعافي 129 حالة من المرض وذلك في الأربع والعشرين ساعة الأخيرة، ليصل إجمالي عدد حالات الشفاء في دولة قطر إلى 2499 حالة، كما تم تسجيل حالة وفاة بسبب الفيروس.
وأوضحت الوزارة ، في بيان لها، أن أغلب الحالات الجديدة تعود لأشخاص من العمالة الوافدة كانوا قد أصيبوا بالفيروس نتيجة مخالطتهم لأفراد تم اكتشاف إصابتهم سابقا بالإضافة لتسجيل حالات إصابة جديدة بين مجموعات من العمالة في مناطق مختلفة وذلك خلال إجراء فحوصات استقصائية من قبل فرق البحث والتقصي التابع لوزارة الصحة الأمر الذي أسهم في الكشف المبكر عن الحالات.
كما تم تسجيل زيادة في عدد الإصابات بين المواطنين والمقيمين ممن خالطوا مصابين بالفيروس من أفراد أسرهم الذين أصيبوا بدورهم في مكان العمل أو في أماكن أخرى.
وتم إدخال الحالات المؤكد إصابتها بالفيروس للعزل الصحي التام في مختلف المرافق الطبية بالدولة، حيث يتلقون العناية الصحية اللازمة حسب الوضع الصحي لكل حالة.
وأفادت الوزارة بأن حالة الوفاة الجديدة تعود لمقيم يبلغ من العمر 52 عاما وكان يتلقى الرعاية الطبية اللازمة في العناية المركزة، ويعاني من أمراض مزمنة.. وتتقدم وزارة الصحة العامة بخالص العزاء وعظيم المواساة لأسرة الفقيد.
وكانت وزارة الصحة العامة أطلقت استبيانا مجتمعيا لمعرفة المزيد حول كيفية انتقال عدوى فيروس (كوفيد-19) ضمن المجتمع وحالات الإصابة التي لا تظهر عليها أعراض المرض وذلك من خلال مراكز مسح من المركبات تقوم بأخذ مسوحات من المشاركين في الاستبيان حيث يتم إجراء الاستبيان والمسح لعينات من المجتمع يتم توجيه لها الدعوة للمشاركة في هذه المبادرة.
وتم الأسبوع الماضي إجراء فحص لـ2500 شخص ممن تلقوا دعوة للمشاركة في الاستبيان المجتمعي الذي يهدف إلى فهم انتقال الفيروس في المجتمع بشكل أفضل وبالتالي تكييف استجابة الجهات المعنية له.
ومن المنتظر أن يتواصل هذا الاستبيان خلال الفترة المقبلة، حيث تدعو الوزارة الأشخاص الذين يتلقون دعوة للاستجابة والمشاركة في هذه المبادرة وذلك للمساهمة في الجهود الوطنية لمكافحة الفيروس وفهم المزيد عن وبائيات انتقال العدوى بين أفراد المجتمع.
وأفادت وزارة الصحة بأن الفترة الحالية تعتبر مرحلة الذروة في تفشي الفيروس مع بلوغها (أعلى موجة) والتي تشهد استمرارا لارتفاع الأعداد قبل أن تبدأ في الاستقرار ثم الانخفاض التدريجي.
كما تعود أسباب ارتفاع الأعداد إلى مضاعفة الوزارة جهودها في تتبع السلاسل الانتقالية للفيروس وتوسيع دائرة البحث عن المصابين عبر إجراء فحوصات مكثفة واستباقية لأعداد كبيرة من المخالطين للأشخاص الذين تم التأكد من إصابتهم بالفيروس مؤخرا.
ونوهت وزارة الصحة العامة بأن عدد الفحوصات اليومية التي تجريها على الأشخاص تعتمد في الأساس على عدد المخالطين للأفراد المؤكد إصابتهم بالفيروس، كما أنها تقوم بفحوصات عشوائية في أماكن مختلفة من البلاد كإجراء استباقي، حيث أن عدد الفحوصات التي يتم إجراؤها يوميا لا يرتبط شرطا بعدد الحالات المكتشفة من ناحية الارتفاع أو الانخفاض.
وشددت الوزارة أنه مع وصول تفشي فيروس كورونا مرحلة الذروة في دولة قطر، فإنه من الضروري عدم الخروج من المنزل إلا للضرورة القصوى مع التأكيد على أهمية الالتزام بكافة الإجراءات والتدابير الوقائية لحماية أنفسهم من عدوى الفيروس ومنها المحافظة على البعد الاجتماعي والمسافة الآمنة من الآخرين بما في ذلك في مكان العمل والأماكن العامة واستخدام الكمام الطبي وتجنب الزيارات الاجتماعية للتقليل من احتمال الإصابة بالفيروس.
كما دعت وزارة الصحة العامة أي شخص لديه أعراض الإصابة بفيروس (كوفيد-19) إلى سرعة الاتصال بخط المساعدة الموحد (16000)، أو التوجه لأحد مراكز الفحص عن الفيروس، حيث أنه كلما كان الكشف عن المرض مبكرا كان العلاج أسهل والتعافي منه أسرع.
