Stefanos Tsitsipas Qualifies to Third Round of Monte Carlo Tennis Masters

Monte Carlo: Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas qualified for the third round of the Monte Carlo Tennis Masters Championship (ATP-1000) after defeating Russian Aslan Karatsev in two clean sets.

In the second round of the tournament, the Greek defeated the Russian 6-3 6-4 after a match that lasted one hour and 25 minutes.

Tsitsipas in the next round will face the winner from the match between Chilean Christian Garen and Australian John Millman.

In another match, Bulgarian Gregor Dimitrov defeated German Jan Lennard Struve in two sets , 6-3 6-4 and GrigorDimitrov will face French Jeremy Chardy in the next round.

The tournament witnessed the withdrawal of the Russian Daniel Medvedev, the number two in the world, due to his infection with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), according to what the ATP announced.

Medvedev reached the semi-finals of the tournament in its last edition in 2019 and the Russian player advanced to second place in the ranking of professional players after winning the French Marseille Championship title last March.

وشهدت البطولة انسحاب الروسي دانييل ميدفيديف المصنف الثاني عالميا بسبب إصابته بفيروس كورونا /كوفيد-19/، بحسب ما أعلنت رابطة محترفي التنس.

ووصل ميدفيديف إلى نصف نهائي البطولة في نسختها الاخيرة عام 2019 وكان اللاعب الروسي تقدم للمركز الثاني في ترتيب تصنيف اللاعبين المحترفين بعد فوزه بلقب بطولة مرسيليا الفرنسية شهر مارس الماضي.
