Doha: Al Gharafa beat Umm Salal 5-1 in Week 22 (final round) of the 2020-21 season QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Saturday.
Koo Ja-Cheol (25th minute), captain Othman Al Yahri (47th minute), Ahmed Al Janehi (59th minute), Jonathan Kodjia (62nd minute) and Adlene Guedioura (90th minute) scored the goals for Al Gharafa after Kayke Rodrigues (15th minute) put Umm Salal ahead.
Al Gharafa thus achieved fourth position with 33 points after their 10th victory, taking advantage of the defeats of both Al Ahli and Qatar SC in the final round.
Al Ahli (-10) also finished with 33 points, but Al Gharafa maintained a better goal difference (+7) to take back their fourth position.
Al Ahli ended up fifth, with Qatar SC (32 points) slipping to sixth position in the final standings. Umm Salal finished 10th with 21 points after suffering their 11th defeat.
The Orange Fortress, however, started their final match on a positive note as a defensive error by Al Gharafa handed them an opportunity to open the account, but Kaykes hit from edge of the box was too high.
Kayke collected another fine cross from the centre, but his attempt flew over the crossbar again.
Kodjias touch from near the penalty spot after Homam Al Ameens cross was brilliantly saved by Umm Salal goalkeeper Samy Habib with a dive on his left.
Kayke then came up with a stunning free-kick from the left just outside the box, firing the ball in the right corner, giving no chance to Al Gharafa goalkeeper Yousef Hassan despite a diving effort. As Al Gharafa looked to fight back, captain Othmans dangerous strike from inside the box was deflected away after taking defender Ali Mohammads touch with Habib nowhere to be seen.
Koos incredible back-heel goal from close to the right upright brought Al Gharafa back into the game. Umm Salal left Homam unmarked inside the box after conceding a free-kick, letting him to pass the ball easily to the South Korean, who finished the move in a spectacular fashion.
Al Gharafa started dominating the proceedings after their opening goal, making several attacks including a couple of dangerous attempts by Kodjia, which were thwarted by Habib as teams went into the half-time with scores levelled.
The Cheetahs clinched lead soon after the start of second half through their captain when Umm Salal keeper Habib miscalculated Sofiane Hannis cross and failed to grab the ball, giving a golden opportunity to Othman, who struck the ball in the right corner with a rocket.
Just before the one-hour mark, Al Gharafa extended their lead after Al Janehi headed the ball in from Othmans cross following a corner.
Three minutes later, Al Gharafa made it 4-1, with Kodjia scoring with a header from a corner kick.
Umm Salal failed to stage a comeback despite making a lot of efforts before Adlene completed Al Gharafas emphatic victory with a strike in the last minute.

الدوحة: ضمن الغرافة مركزه في المربع الذهبي بفوزه بخماسية مقابل هدف واحد، على نظيره أم صلال في المواجهة التي جمعت بين الفريقين مساء الأمس على ملعب سحيم بن حمد بنادي قطر في إطار مباريات الأسبوع الثاني والعشرين والأخير من الدوري القطري لكرة القدم (دوري نجوم QNB) 2020 – 2021.
وبهذا الانتصار تمكن الغرافة من إنهاء الدوري في المربع الذهبي بعدما كان سادساً قبل هذه الجولة، مستغلاً خسارة الأهلي ونادي قطر هذا الأسبوع أمام كل من الدحيل والسد.
ورفع الغرافة رصيده إلى 33 نقطة في المركز الرابع بفارق الأهداف عن الأهلي، وفي المقابل توقف رصيد أم صلال عند 21 نقطة ليظل في المركز العاشر.
سجل أهداف الغرافة جا تشو كول في الدقيقة 25 وعثمان اليهري في الدقيقة 47 وأحمد الجانحي في الدقيقة 59 وجوناثان كودجيا في الدقيقة 62، وعدلان قديورة في الدقيقة 90، بينما سجل هدف أم صلال البرازيلي كايكي في الدقيقة 15.
بداية اللقاء جاءت قوية، ودخل الفريقان برغبة هجومية واضحة وتبادلا السيطرة على مجريات اللقاء، خاصة أم صلال الذي نجح في التقدم مبكرا في الدقيقة 15 من كرة ثابتة على حدود منطقة الجزاء سددها البرازيلي كايكي في المرمى على يسار الحارس يوسف حسن ليتقدم فريقه 1-0.
ولم يستسلم الغرافة، ولم يهتز بعد الهدف واستطاع العودة للمباراة من جديد بتسجيل هدف التعادل في الدقيقة 25 عن طريق الكوري جا تشو كول الذي غير مسار تسديدة همام الأمين بعد تمريرة من سفيان هني من كرة ثابتة ليضعها في المرمى معلنا عن التعادل للغرافة.
وأشعل الهدف حماس لاعبي الغرافة الذين حاولوا التقدم قبل نهاية الشوط الأول لكن تألق الحارس سامي حبيب حال دون ذلك ليحافظ أم صلال على التعادل، وينتهي الشوط الأول على وقع نتيجة 1-1.
ومع بداية الشوط الثاني نجح عثمان اليهري سريعا في تسجيل الهدف الثاني للغرافة بعد هجمة منظمة من الجبهة اليمنى، حيث لعب عدلان قديورة كرة عرضية ارتدت من يد الحارس سامي حبيب لتجد اليهري الذي راوغ المدافعين وسدد في المرمى ليتقدم الفهود 2-1 عند الدقيقة 47.
وفي الدقيقة 59 نجح أحمد الجانحي في تسجيل الهدف الثالث للغرافة بعد عرضية متقنة لعبها عثمان اليهري وأخفق سامي حبيب حارس أم صلال في التصدي لها لتعلن عن الهدف الثالث للغرافة.
وواصل الغرافة ضغطه المستمر على لاعبي أم صلال واستغل بشكل جيد سلاح الكرات الثابتة، ومن ضربة ركنية في الدقيقة 62 نجح الإيفواري جوناثان كودجيا في إضافة الهدف الرابع للفريق بضربة رأس رائعة بعد هروبه من الرقابة الدفاعية ليتقدم الغرافة 4-1.
وفي الوقت الذي كانت فيه المباراة تقترب من نهايتها، سجل الجزائري عدلان قديورة الهدف الخامس للفهود عند الدقيقة 90 من تسديدة قوية، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الغرافة 5-1، ويضمن الفريق بالتالي المركز الرابع.
