What is the cost of mobile data in Arab countries? What about Qatar?

Cable.co.uk has launched its third annual study of the cost of mobile data service per gigabyte worldwide, including arab countries.

The results of the study, according to CNN, showed the ranking of the arab countries most and least expensive mobile phone data, with Sudan ranked first as the lowest cost at $0.27, followed by Algeria at $0.51, Somalia at $0.60, Libya at $0.74 and Kuwait in fifth place at $0.81.

Qatar ranked 16th with $3.20, while Yemen ranked 22nd with the most expensive mobile data cost at $15.98.

Globally, the results showed an year-on-year increase in listed locations from 228 countries and regions in 2020 to 230 this year.

The study also revealed an increase in the number of individual mobile data packages in 2021, from 5,554 to 6,148, an increase of more than 10%.

According to the report, the five most expensive countries in terms of average cost per gigabyte of mobile phone data are Equatorial Guinea ($49.67), the Falkland Islands ($44.56), St. Helena ($39.87), Sao Tome and Principe ($30.97) and Malawi ($25.46).

On the other hand, the report ranked the five cheapest countries in terms of the average cost of 1 GB of mobile phone data, namely Israel ($0.05), Kyrgyzstan ($0.15), Fiji ($0.19), Italy ($0.27) and Sudan ($0.27).

وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة، بحسب موقع CNN ترتيب الدول العربية الأكثر والأقل في تكلفة بيانات الهاتف المحمول، حيث جاءت السودان في المرتبة الأولى كأقل تكلفة بمقدار 0.27 دولار، تليها الجزائر 0.51 دولار، ثم الصومال 0.60 دولار، وليبيا 0.74 دولار، ثم الكويت في المرتبة الخامسة 0.81 دولار.

واحتلت قطر المرتبة 16 بمقدار 3.20 دولار، فيما حلت اليمن في المرتبة 22 كأغلى تكلفة لبيانات الهاتف المحمول ب 15.98 دولار.

وعالمياً، أظهرت النتائج زيادة على أساس سنوي في المواقع المدرجة من 228 دولة ومنطقة في عام 2020 إلى 230 هذا العام.

كما كشفت الدراسة عن زيادة عدد حزم بيانات الهاتف المحمول الفردية في عام 2021، من 5554 إلى 6148، الذي يعد ارتفاعًا بلغت نسبته أكثر من 10٪.

ووفقًا للتقرير تعتبر أغلى خمس دول من حيث متوسط تكلفة الغيغابايت الواحد من بيانات الهاتف المحمول هي غينيا الاستوائية (49.67$) وجزر فوكلاند (44.56$) وسانت هيلانة (39.87$) وساو تومي وبرينسيبي (30.97$) وملاوي (25.46$).

ومن جهة أخرى صنف التقرير أرخص خمس دول من حيث متوسط تكلفة 1 غيغابايت من بيانات الهاتف المحمول، وهي إسرائيل (0.05$)، وقيرغيزستان (0.15$)، وفيجي (0.19$)، وإيطاليا (0.27$)، والسودان (0.27$).
