Pfizer and Moderna vaccines produce antibodies after 6 months

Doha: Pfizer and Moderna vaccines against Corona, which are taken on two doses, are still able to produce antibodies after six months, the Daily News revealed.

The U.S. newspaper quoted new research, published Tuesday in the New England Journal of Medicine, as saying that research is continuing to find out how long antibodies are detected in people who received the Moderna vaccine.

The research also revealed high levels of antibodies in all age groups participating in the clinical trial, where young people had higher levels than older people. 

The researchers aim to continue monitoring people in the experiment to determine when protection falls and to see how much additional protection can be treated using booster doses.

According to the research, the vaccine developed by Pfizer remains 92% effective six months after vaccination, in a separate trial.

The research showed that both vaccines are highly effective in preventing severe infection.  

The news about the effectiveness of vaccines comes as U.S. states continue to expand the scope of people eligible for vaccines, as a fourth wave of the epidemic threatens to engulf the United States, the paper said.

كشفت صحيفة “ديلي نيوز” عن أن لقاحي فايزر وموديرنا ضد كورونا – الذين يتم أخذهما على جرعتين – لايزالا قادرين على إنتاج أجسام مضادة بعد 6 شهور، ومن ثم تمتد حمايتهما بعد 6 شهور .

ونقلت الصحيفة الأمريكية عن بحث جديد، نُشر يوم الثلاثاء في مجلة ” نيو إنجلاند جورنال أوف ميديسن”، أن البحث مستمر لمعرفة المدة التي يتم فيها اكتشاف الأجسام المضادة لدى الأشخاص الذين تلقوا لقاح موديرنا.

كما كشف البحث عن المستويات العالية من الأجسام المضادة في جميع الفئات العمرية التي شاركت في التجربة السريرية ، حيث كان لدى الشباب مستويات أعلى من كبار السن. 

ويهدف الباحثون إلى مواصلة مراقبة الأشخاص في التجربة لتحديد متى تسقط الحماية ومعرفة مقدار الحماية الإضافية التي يمكن معالجتها باستخدام جرعات تعزيزية.

فايزر

ووفقاً للبحث، فإن اللقاح الذي طورته شركة فايزر يظل فعالا بنسبة 92% بعد مرور ستة أشهر على التطعيم، وذلك في تجربة منفصلة.

وأظهر البحث أن كلا اللقاحين فعاليتهما العالية في منع الإصابة بحالة مرضية شديدة بسبب الإصابة بالفيروس.   

وذكرت الصحيفة أن هذه الأنباء حول فعالية اللقاحات تأتي في الوقت الذي تستمر فيه الولايات الأمريكية في توسيع نطاق الأشخاص المؤهلين لتلقي اللقاحات، حيث تهدد موجة رابعة من الوباء باجتياح الولايات المتحدة.
