Doha to Host 31st AFC General Assembly Next November

Manama: The Executive Office of the Asian Football Confederation decided to hold the 31st General Assembly of the Confederation, next November in Doha.
In a speech during the seventh meeting of the AFC Executive Office, which was held yesterday in the Bahraini capital, Manama, the President of the AFC, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, praised the application of the highest standards and protocols for health and safety during the successful organization of the AFC Champions League 2020 hosted by Doha, explaining that this success paved the way for the repetition of the same standards in 2021, and thanked the member national federations that had expressed their interest in hosting the upcoming competitions in the grouping system in the Asian qualifiers, the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup.
“The successful completion of the AFC Champions League has given us a model that we will rely on in 2021 with greater confidence,” the AFC President said, and thanked the Qatar Football Association, the Qatari authorities and the medical staff for their commitment and support.
The AFC President affirmed the commitment and unity of the member national federations to resume the Asian football calendar for the year 2021, expressing his appreciation also to all member national federations that have agreed to host matches for national teams and clubs in the coming weeks and months.
He said, “It was necessary to show the world that Asian football is ready to return, and we must also assure the players, teams and fans across the continent that we are in an ideal position to organize safe and world-class tournaments, in accordance with the vision of the AFC.”
The AFC President also expressed his deep appreciation to President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, who attended the meeting in Bahrain, and thanked the FIFA for its leadership and continuous support for the AFC and national federations, especially in these difficult circumstances.
On the other hand, the Executive Office decided to grant the rights to host the AFC U-20 Youth Cup 2022 to the Uzbek Football Association, as new dates for the tournament were set from 4 to 17 April 2022, and the rights to host the AFC U-17 Cup 2022 were granted to the Indonesian Federation and the tournament will take place from 9-22 May.
The members of the Executive Office were also informed of the FIFA decision to suspend the Pakistan Football Association, in light of the recent events that took place at the headquarters of the Pakistan Football Association in Lahore, where a group of protesters stormed the offices and seized the headquarters from the temporary committee.

المنامة: قرر المكتب التنفيذي في الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم ، عقد اجتماع الجمعية العمومية الحادي والثلاثين للاتحاد ، خلال شهر نوفمبر المقبل في الدوحة .
وأشاد الشيخ سلمان بن إبراهيم آل خليفة رئيس الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم ،في كلمة له خلال الاجتماع السابع للمكتب التنفيذي في الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم، والذي عقد يوم الأمس في العاصمة البحرينية المنامة بتطبيق أعلى معايير وبروتوكولات الصحة والسلامة خلال التنظيم الناجح لدوري أبطال آسيا 2020 التي استضافتها الدوحة، موضحاً أن ذلك النجاح مهد الأساس لتكرار ذات المعايير عام 2021، وتقدم بالشكر إلى الاتحادات الوطنية الأعضاء التي أبدت اهتمامها باستضافة المنافسات المقبلة بنظام التجمع في التصفيات الآسيوية ودوري أبطال آسيا وكأس الاتحاد الآسيوي.
وقال رئيس الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم :” ان الاستكمال الناجح لدوري أبطال آسيا منحنا النموذج الذي سنعتمد عليه عام 2021 بثقة أكبر”، وتقدم بالشكر إلى الاتحاد القطري لكرة القدم والسلطات القطرية والطواقم الطبية على التزامهم ودعمهم.
واكد رئيس الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم التزام ووحدة الاتحادات الوطنية الأعضاء من أجل استئناف روزنامة كرة القدم الآسيوية لعام 2021 معربا عن تقديره أيضاً لجميع الاتحادات الوطنية الأعضاء التي وافقت على استضافة مباريات المنتخبات الوطنية والأندية خلال الأسابيع والأشهر المقبلة.
وقال :” كان من الضروري أن نظهر للعالم أن كرة القدم الآسيوية جاهزة للعودة، ويجب أيضاً أن نؤكد للاعبين والفرق والجماهير في كافة أرجاء القارة أننا في وضع مثالي لتنظيم بطولات آمنة وعلى مستوى عالمي، وفق رؤية الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم”.
كما أعرب الشيخ سلمان عن عميق تقديره للسيد جياني انفانتينو رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم، الذي حضر الاجتماع في البحرين، وتقدم بالشكر إلى الاتحاد الدولي على قيادته ودعمه المتواصل للاتحاد الآسيوي والاتحادات الوطنية، خاصة في هذه الظروف الصعبة.
ومن جهة اخرى قرر المكتب التنفيذي منح حقوق استضافة كأس آسيا للشابات تحت 20 عاماً 2022 للاتحاد الأوزبكي لكرة القدم، حيث تم تحديد المواعيد الجديدة للبطولة في الفترة من 4 إلى 17 من شهر أبريل 2022، ومنح حقوق استضافة كأس آسيا للناشئات تحت 17 عاماً 2022 للاتحاد الإندونيسي لكرة القدم، وتقام البطولة خلال الفترة 9-22 من شهر مايو.
كما اطلع أعضاء المكتب التنفيذي على قرار الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم القاضي بإيقاف الاتحاد الباكستاني لكرة القدم ، في ضوء الأحداث الأخيرة التي حصلت في مقر الاتحاد الباكستاني لكرة القدم في لاهور، حيث قامت مجموعة من المحتجين باقتحام المكاتب وقامت بالاستحواذ على المقر من اللجنة المؤقتة.
