Rabat: The moroccan artist, Haja Hamdaouia died at the age of 91, after a struggle with leukaemia.
Last Thursday, Hamdaouia was admitted to a private clinic in Rabat after suffering from critical health complications that required her to be admitted to the intensive care unit.
Haja Hamdaouia, whose real name is “Hajjajjia Hamdaouia”, succeeded in “subjecting Al-Aita to the requirements of orchestral musical distribution, which led her art to rapidly spread and touch the depth and general Moroccan conscience”, according to poet and researcher in the art of Aita, Hassan Najmi.
During her nearly 70-year career, Haja Hamdaouia was able to bring the popular Aita art into a sophisticated way, and introduced it into Moroccan homes.

الرباط: غيب الموت، أمس، الفنانة المغربية القديرة، الحاجة الحمداوية، عن عمر ناهز 91 سنة، وذلك بعد صراع مع مرض سرطان الدم.
وأُدخلت الفنانة الحمداوية، الخميس الماضي، إلى إحدى المصحات الخاصة في مدينة الرباط، بعد أن عانت وضعًا صحيًا حرجًا استدعى إدخالها إلى قسم العناية المُركزة. ونجحت الحاجة الحمداوية، واسمها الحقيقي «الحجاجية الحمداوية»، في «إخضاع العيطة لمقتضيات التوزيع الموسيقي الأوركسترالي، ما جعل فنها سريع الانتشار ويلامس العمق والوجدان المغربي العام»، بحسب الشاعر والباحث المُختص في فن العيطة، حسن نجمي.
وخلال مسيرتها الفنية التي امتدت لنحو 70 سنة، استطاعت الحاجة الحمداوية أن توصل فن العيطة الشعبي بطريقة راقية، وأدخلته إلى البيوت المغربيّة.
