Doha: With increased hope that travel will return to normal as vaccination campaigns against Covid-19 continue in various countries around the world, an e-commerce specialist has offered several tips for those who want to plan their summer vacation and book their flight tickets.
If things like increasing vaccination numbers and easing travel restrictions are making you dream of a summer vacation, CNN Arabic said. There’s good news and tips from Julian Kell, editor of the e-commerce site CNN Underscored, for the best deals when you’re ready to travel.
· First: Take advantage of the fact that flight changes are free
“It’s big news that airlines now allow you to change or even cancel a ticket without having to pay extra fees,” says Julian Kell, editor of the e-commerce site.
The video posted on CNN suggests that even if you don’t get the vaccine and you want to go later in the year when you think you’re going to get the Covid 19 vaccine, the booking time is now, you won’t see the prices you see now, so if you’re considering booking any time in 2021, book your tickets today.
· Second: Travel insurance:
The good news is that while you can buy a separate travel insurance policy, many credit cards now offer travel insurance on the card as a free feature as long as you use the card to book your ticket.
It is recommended to communicate with airlines via social media, saying: Many airlines and hotels have fairly large social media teams and can actually handle your booking directly, and you can avoid having to deal with anyone on the phone completely.
Earlier today, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said that a digital travel permit for the results of the Covid-19 tests and vaccination certificates will be launched on the Apple platform in mid-April, after the digital travel permit, which is currently in testing.
“But the app will only be successful when used by airlines, different countries, and airports,” said Kamel Al Awadhi, IATA’s regional vice president for Africa and the Middle East, adding that “a large number of airlines have asked to join (to use the app),” he also mentioned that the app will be released on Apple platform approximately on April 15th to be launched at a later time on Android devices, according to Reuters.
Britain-based Virgin Atlantic said on Friday that it would try the IATA app on the London-to-Barbados route from April 16. Barbados said it would accept the permit at its borders, becoming one of the first States to accept a digital permit rather than paper documents.

ويقول جوليان كيل محرر في موقع التجارة الإلكترونية: إنها أخبار كبيرة تتمثل في أن شركات الطيران تسمح لك الآن بتغيير أو حتى إلغاء التذكرة دون الحاجة إلى دفع رسوم إضافية.
ويرى الفيديو المنشور بموقع “سي إن إن” أنه حتى لو لم تحصل على اللقاح وترغب في الذهاب في وقت لاحق من العام حيث تعتقد أنك ستكون حصلت على اللقاح المضاد لكوفيد 19 فإن وقت الحجز هو الآن، لن ترى الأسعار التي تراها الآن، لذا إذا كنت تفكر في الحجز في أي وقت من عام 2021 فاحجز تذاكرك اليوم.
ثانياً: تأمين السفر:
ويعتبر أن الخبر السار هو أنه بينما يمكنك شراء سياسة تأمين سفر منفصلة فإن الكثير من بطاقات الائتمان تقدم الآن تأميناً على السفر ضمن البطاقة كميزة مجانية طالما أنك تستخدم البطاقة لحجز تذكرتك.
وينصح بالتواصل مع شركات الطيران عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، قائلاً: لدى الكثير من شركات الطيران والفنادق فرق وسائل تواصل اجتماعي كبيرة إلى حد ما ويمكنها بالفعل التعامل مع حجزك مباشرة، ويمكنك تجنب الاضطرار إلى التعامل مع أي شخص على الهاتف تماماً.
وفي وقت سابق اليوم قال الاتحاد الدولي للنقل الجوي (إياتا) إن تصريح سفر رقمياً لنتائج فحوص كوفيد-19 وشهادات التطعيم سينطلق على منصة أبل في منتصف أبريل، وذلك بعد أن كان من المزمع إطلاق تصريح السفر الرقمي، الذي يمر حالياً بمرحلة اختبار.
وقال كامل العوضي نائب الرئيس الإقليمي لإياتا في منطقة أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط إن من المتوقع إطلاق التطبيق على منصة أبل في 15 أبريل تقريباً، ثم في وقت لاحق على منصة أندرويد، مضيفاً: “لكن التطبيق سيحقق نجاحه فقط عندما تستخدمه شركات الطيران، والدول المختلفة، والمطارات”، كاشفاً عن أن “عدد كبير من شركات الطيران طلبت الانضمام (لاستخدام التطبيق)”، بحسب رويترز.
كانت شركة فيرجن أتلانتيك للطيران، ومقرها بريطانيا، قالت يوم الجمعة إنها ستجرب تطبيق إياتا على مسار لندن إلى بربادوس بدءاً من 16 أبريل. وقالت بربادوس إنها ستقبل التصريح على حدودها، لتصبح من أوائل الدول قبولاً لتصريح رقمي بدلاً من الوثائق الورقية.
