Qatar welcomes resumption of US humanitarian aid for Palestinians

Doha: The State of Qatar welcomed the announcement by the United States of America that it will resume support for the Palestinians by providing $15 million in humanitarian assistance to the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the US move would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and support the Palestinian efforts aimed at confronting the COVID-19 pandemic in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The statement expressed Qatar’s aspiration for a greater contribution from the international community in providing the necessary support to the Palestinians, in a way that would contribute to the complete elimination of the pandemic in the Palestinian territories.

الدوحة: رحبت دولة قطر باستئناف الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية تقديم الدعم للأشقاء الفلسطينيين وذلك بإعلانها عن تخصيص مبلغ 15 مليون دولار كمساعدات إنسانية للضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة.
وأكدت وزارة الخارجية، في بيان، أن الخطوة الأمريكية من شأنها تخفيف معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني ودعم الجهود الفلسطينية الهادفة لمواجهة فيروس (كوفيد-19) في الضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة.
وأعرب البيان عن تطلع دولة قطر إلى إسهام أكبر من المجتمع الدولي في توفير الدعم اللازم للفلسطينيين بما يسهم في القضاء التام على الوباء في الأراضي الفلسطينية.
