Minister Meets Representatives of French Bank Societe Generale

Doha: HE Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Chairman of the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari met with representatives of the French multinational bank Societe Generale (SocGen).
During the meeting, they discussed various topics related to the partnership between the public and private sectors and the government’s efforts in this context, in addition to announcing the establishment of SocGen’s representative office in Doha, which will operate within Qatar Financial Center (QFC)’s platform.
This step represents a qualitative addition to the financial services sector in Qatar and it reflects the confidence of major international firms in the strength of the Qatari economy, especially that the State offers many incentives and investment opportunities that support the growth prospects of international enterprises, including French companies, in the local, regional, and global markets, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement.
SocGen is considered one of the largest banks in France. Today, the Bank supports the needs of over 29 million individual, corporate, and institutional clients through a broad range of financial and advisory services.

وتم خلال الاجتماع مناقشة موضوعات تتعلق بالشراكة بين القطاعين الحكومي والخاص، وجهود الحكومة في هذا السياق.
كما تم الإعلان عن إنشاء مكتب تمثيلي لبنك /سوسيتيه جنرال/ في الدوحة ليعمل في إطار منصة مركز قطر للمال.
وقالت وزارة التجارة والصناعة، في بيان، إن هذه الخطوة تعد إضافة نوعية لقطاع الخدمات المالية في دولة قطر، وتعكس ثقة كبرى الشركات العالمية في قوة الاقتصاد القطري، خاصة وأن الدولة توفر العديد من الحوافز والفرص الاستثمارية التي من شأنها دعم توسع الشركات الأجنبية، لا سيما الشركات الفرنسية، في الأسواق المحلية والإقليمية والعالمية.
جدير بالذكر أن بنك /سوسيتيه جنرال/ يعد واحدا من أكبر البنوك الفرنسية، وتجاوز عدد عملائه 29 مليون عميل من الأفراد والشركات والمؤسسات، كما أنه يقدم العديد من الخدمات المالية والاستشارية.
