Doha: Facebook inc. said Friday that its services are experiencing problems after nearly one million people around the world complained of crashes in the company’s Instagram app.
A unit of the company tweeted that several teams are working to fix “the outage”, adding: “We will keep you up to date as soon as possible,” Reuters reported.
Users took to Twitter to complain about the WhatsApp crash as well. The website Downdetector.com, which monitors crashes by collating status reports from a series of sources, showed nearly one million users reporting problems with Instagram, while about 20,000 reported problems with WhatsApp.
WhatsApp and Instagram services stopped abruptly on Friday evening, causing the service to be cut off from users of the two applications and users were unable to send or receive messages via the first or follow the services of the second, before the service returned later.

الدوحة: قالت شركة فيسبوك اليوم الجمعة إن خدماتها تعاني من مشكلات وذلك بعدما اشتكى نحو مليون فرد في أنحاء العالم من أعطال بتطبيق انستجرام المملوك للشركة.
وأكدت وحدة تابعة للشركة على تويتر أن عدة فرق تعمل على إصلاح (الانقطاع)، مضيفة: “وسنوافيكم بالجديد في أقرب وقت”، بحسب رويترز.
ولجأ مستخدمون إلى تويتر لرفع شكواهم بشأن العطل الذي طال واتساب أيضاً. وأظهر موقع داونديتيكتور دوت كوم الإلكتروني الذي يرصد الأعطال من خلال تجميع تقارير الحالة من عدة مصادر، زهاء مليون مستخدم أبلغوا عن مشاكل في استخدام انستجرام في حين أبلغ نحو 20 ألفاً عن مشكلات بخدمة واتساب.
وتوقفت خدمات واتساب وإنستجرام بشكل مفاجئ مساء اليوم الجمعة ما تسبب في انقطاع الخدمة عن مستخدمي التطبيقين وعدم تمكنهم في إرسال أو تلقي الرسائل عبر الأول أو متابعة خدمات الثاني، قبل أن تعود الخدمة لاحقاً.
