Lusail University: 4 Steps to File Complaints Against the Test Score

Doha: Lusail University announced that the student can file a Complaint against the test score if he believes that he was treated in an unfair manner in the academic process, and this matter is applied regarding the disagreement over the merit of grades during the semester or claiming any subject requirements that were not fair.

The university explained in a statement, that the student must discuss the faculty member concerned as soon as he is aware of the matter and within 10 days of monitoring the degree, and in the absence of a satisfactory solution between the student and the faculty member, the student should apply for a Complaint request to the associate dean of the faculty.

The student shall be informed of the decision to consider the Complaint via e-mail within 10 working days of submitting the application, and the student can also appeal the Complaint and submit it to the Vice-President for Student Affairs if he believes that the policies and procedures were not followed properly and the Vice- President for Student Affairs reviews everything related to the Complaint and the manner of the complaint to make his decision.

Lusail University confirmed that it pursues a fair policy in dealing with its students and their relationship with other members of the university community with the aim of establishing and implementing sound policies and procedures. It also emphasizes following the standards that achieve the learning outcomes and aspires to form the characteristics of an outstanding graduate.

This follows the complaint of many university students, because of the difficulty of the tests, which they described as not commensurate with the current circumstances, which led to low students’ scores in the tests, indicating that the test schedule was not commensurate with the difficulty of the subjects, where two subjects were tested in one day with only two hours break between them, as well as the difficulty of questions that did not suit the testing time, demanding the university to look for solutions consisting of short tests and research to raise students’ test scores.

الدوحة: أعلنت جامعة لوسيل عن إمكانية أن يتقدم الطالب بتظلم من درجة الاختبار، إذا اعتقد بأنه تمت معاملته بطريقة غير عادلة أو منصفة في العملية الأكاديمية ويطبق هذا الأمر حول الخلاف على استحقاق الدرجات أثناء الفصل الدراسي أو الادعاء بأي متطلبات مادة دراسية لم تكن منصفة.

وأوضحت الجامعة في بيان لها، أنه يجب على الطالب أن يناقش عضو هيئة التدريس المعني بمجرد أن يكون على بينة من الأمر وخلال 10 ايام من رصد الدرجة، وفي حال عدم التوصل لحل مرضٍ بين الطالب وعضو هيئة التدريس ينبغي على الطالب التقدم بطلب التظلم لعميد الكلية المنتمي له عضو هيئة التدريس.

ويبلغ الطالب بقرار النظر في التظلم عبر البريد الإلكتروني خلال 10 أيام عمل من تقديم الطلب، كما يمكن للطالب أن يستأنف التظلم ويرفعه إلى نائب رئيس الجامعة لشؤون الطلاب إذا اعتقد بأن السياسات والإجراءات لم تتبع بشكل صحيح ويقوم نائب رئيس الجامعة لشؤون الطلاب بمراجعة كل ما يتعلق بالتظلم وطريقة الشكوى لاتخاذ قراره.

وأكدت جامعة لوسيل أنها تنتهج سياسة عادلة في التعامل مع طلابها وعلاقتهم بغيرهم من أفراد مجتمع الجامعة مستهدفة تأسيس وتنفيذ السياسات والإجراءات السليمة. كما تؤكد على اتباع المعايير التي تحقق مخرجات التعلم وتصبو لتكوين سمات الخريج المتميز.

يأتي ذلك عقب شكوى العديد من طلاب الجامعة، بسبب صعوبة الاختبارات التي وصفوها بأنها لا تتناسب مع الظروف الحالية، مما أدى إلى تدني معدلات الطلبة في الاختبارات، مشيرين إلى أن جدول الاختبارات كان لا يتناسب مع صعوبة المواد، حيث تم وضع اختبار مادتين في يوم واحد بينهما ساعتان فقط، فضلاً عن صعوبة الأسئلة التي لم تتناسب مع زمن الاختبار، مطالبين بضرورة أن تبحث الجامعة عن حلول تتمثل في الاختبارات القصيرة والابحاث لرفع معدلات الطلبة.
