Olympic Torch Relay to Start March 25 from Fukushima

Tokyo: Organizers of the Summer Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo announced the launch of the Olympic torch relay as scheduled on March 25 in Fukushima, to continue preparing for the Games.
The organizers stressed, in a statement today, that the torch relay ceremony will not be open to the public as a precaution against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The statement added that the organizing committee “is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the torch relay tour of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by taking preventive measures to prevent the spread of infection among the public, torchbearers, crews, the rest of the tour participants and the local population as well.”
The organizing committee indicated that some pilot events for the session have been postponed, including a shooting competition scheduled for next April to May.
The Olympic Games were scheduled to be held in 2020, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is going to be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021, followed by the Paralympic Games for People with Special Needs from August 24 to September 5.

طوكيو: أعلن منظمو دورة الألعاب الأولمبية الصيفية التي تقام في طوكيو عن انطلاق جولة الشعلة الأولمبية للدورة في الموعد المقرر لها في 25 مارس الجاري في مدينة فوكوشيما ليستمر بذلك الاستعداد لتنظيم الدورة.
وأكد المنظمون ،في بيان اليوم، على أن مراسم جولة الشعلة لن تكون مفتوحة أمام الجمهور من أجل تجنب العدوى بفيروس كورونا /كوفيد – 19/.
وأضاف البيان أن اللجنة المنظمة “ملتزمة بضمان أمن وسلامة جولة شعلة أولمبياد طوكيو 2020 من خلال اتخاذ الإجراءات الوقائية لمنع انتشار العدوى بين الجمهور وحاملي الشعلة والطواقم وبقية المشاركين في الجولة والسكان المحليين أيضا”.
واشارت اللجنة المنظمة إلى تأجيل بعض الأحداث التجريبية للدورة ومنها مسابقة للرماية كانت مقررة في أبريل المقبل إلى مايو.
وكان من المقرر أن تقام دورة الألعاب الأولمبية في 2020 لكن تم تأجيلها بسبب جائحة فيروس كورونا لتقام في الفترة من 23 يوليو ولغاية 8 أغسطس 2021 ، وتعقبها دورة الألعاب البارالمبية لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة من 24 أغسطس إلى 5 سبتمبر.
