AstraZeneca responds to accusations of its anti-Coronavirus vaccine

Doha: AstraZeneca said Sunday that its review of those who received its covid-19 vaccine found no signs of an increased risk of blood clots.
“A thorough review of all potential safety data for more than 17 million people vaccinated against covid-19 with the AstraZeneca vaccine in the European Union and Britain showed no signs of increased risk of pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis or platelet pallets in any particular age group, gender or country,” the company said in a statement, according to Reuters.
The company and European health authorities conducted additional tests without showing cause for concern, adding that there are also no confirmed problems related to the quality of any of its Coronavirus vaccine batches used throughout Europe and the world.
Several countries, including Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Bulgaria, Italy and Thailand, have suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine due to fears of blood clots in those who received the vaccine, according to Russia’s Sputnik.
In Italy, health ministry inspectors arrived in Sicily on Sunday to investigate the death of a 43-year-old soldier on Tuesday after receiving the vaccine.
The regional health authority in the Piedmont region of northern Italy announced that it had suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Sunday following the death of a teacher who had received the anti-Covid 19 vaccine the day before.
However, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the EU’s medicine regulator said there was no causal link between the vaccine and coagulation, while the Anglo-Swedish manufacturer confirmed that the vaccine was safe.

الدوحة: قالت شركة أسترازينيكا يوم الأحد إن المراجعة التي أجرتها على من تلقوا لقاحها لفيروس كورونا “كوفيد 19” أسفرت عن عدم ظهور دلائل على زيادة خطر حدوث تجلط في الدم.
وجاء في البيان الصادر عن الشركة، بحسب رويترز: “مراجعة دقيقة لجميع بيانات السلامة المحتملة لأكثر من 17 مليوناً حصلوا على التطعيم من كوفيد-19 بلقاح أسترازينيكا في الاتحاد الأوروبي وبريطانيا لم تُظهر دلائل على زيادة خطر الانسداد الرئوي أو تجلط الأوردة العميقة أو قلة الصفائح في أي فئة عمرية محددة أو جنس معين أو في أي بلد بعينه”.
وأضافت الشركة أنها والسلطات الصحية الأوروبية أجرتا اختبارات إضافية دون أن تظهر ما يدعو للقلق، مضيفة أنه لا توجد أيضاً مشكلات مؤكدة متعلقة بجودة أي من دفعات لقاحها لفيروس كورونا المستخدمة في أنحاء أوروبا والعالم.
وأوقفت العديد من الدول بما في ذلك أيرلندا والدنمارك والنرويج وبلغاريا وإيطاليا وتايلاند، استخدام لقاح “أسترازينيكا” بسبب مخاوف من حدوث تجلطات في الدم لدى من تلقوا اللقاح، وفقاً لموقع سبوتنيك الروسي.
