Jordan’s International Film Festival Kicks Off Today

Amman: The 10th edition of Jordan’s international film festival commences Wednesday, with the participation of 15 short films in the official competition. In addition to the official competition submissions, Arabic and foreign films will be shown. The festival will run until Oct. 2.
Moreover, competing for the festival prizes are Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Afghanistan, Mexico, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, China, and Uzbekistan.
The festival aims to consolidate the concepts of the film industry in Jordan and present global Arab models, in order to create a rich visual dialogue space maturing with experiments and experiences. The festival also aims to contribute to the filmmaking movement with highly skilled directors, developing the artistic and technical capabilities of Jordanian filmmakers, and participating in international film festivals and forums and films with highly artistic quality.
The festival will commence with the screening of a Jordanian film by director Raed Odeh, followed by the Egyptian film by Mohsen Abdelghani.
The festival will host a group of artists, including actor Kamal Abu Rayeh and actress Reem Al-Baroudi from Egypt, Iraqi actress Alaa Najm, and Palestinian director Raed Dazdar. The names of three late Jordanian artists, Nabil Al-Mashini, Daoud Jalajel and Hisham Henedy, will be honored.
The Jordan International Film Festival, which is organized by the Directorate of Theater and Visual Arts in the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Jordanian Artists Syndicate, was established in 2013 with local films before it opened with its international films.

عمان: تنطلق الدورة العاشرة من مهرجان /الأردن/ الدولي للأفلام اليوم /الأربعاء/، بمشاركة /15/ فيلما قصيرا داخل المسابقة الرسمية، بالإضافة إلى الأفلام العربية والأجنبية خارج المنافسة، ويستمر المهرجان إلى الثاني من أكتوبر القادم.
وتتنافس على جوائز المهرجان كل من “الأردن، تونس، المغرب ، مصر، أفغانستان، المكسيك، كندا، فرنسا، إيطاليا، إسبانيا، بولندا، أوكرانيا، روسيا، الصين، و أوزبكستان”.
ويهدف المهرجان إلى ترسيخ مفاهيم صناعة السينما في الأردن وتقديم نماذج عالمية عربية، من أجل خلق مساحة حوار بصري ثري ينضج بالتجارب والخبرات، كما يهدف المهرجان إلى المساهمة في رفد حركة صناعة الأفلام بمخرجين على قدرة عالية من الحرفية، وتطوير القدرات الفنية والتقنية لصانعي الفيلم السينمائي الأردني، والمشاركة بالمهرجانات والمحافل الدولية الخاصة بالسينما وبأفلام بجودة فنية عالية.
ويُفتتح المهرجان بعرض الفيلم الأردني /الدفينة/ للمخرج رائد عودة، يليه الفيلم المصري /خط في دائرة/ للمخرج محسن عبد الغني .
ويستضيف المهرجان في هذه الدورة مجموعة من الفنانين منهم الممثل كمال أبو ريه والممثلة ريم البارودي من مصر، والممثلة العراقية آلاء نجم، والمخرج الفلسطيني رائد دزدار، وسيكرم أسماء ثلاثة من الفنانين الأردنيين الراحلين، هم نبيل المشيني وداوود جلاجل وهشام هنيدي.
جدير بالذكر أن مهرجان الأردن الدولي للأفلام والذي تنظمه مديرية المسرح والفنون البصرية في وزارة الثقافة الأردنية، بالتعاون مع نقابة الفنانين الأردنيين تأسس في عام 2013 بأفلام محلية قبل أن ينفتح بأفلامه العالمية.
