Qatar’s Maritime Transport Sector Thrives with 4,729 Transactions in Q2

Doha: Qatar has made significant investment in the transport sector, placing the country in a leading position in the global maritime industry. The Ministry of Transport (MoT) recently announced that it completed 4,729 transactions through Maritime Transport Affairs in the second quarter (Q2) of this year, according to a tweet by the ministry.
These transactions were related to key services such as the issuance and accreditation of competency certificates for safe manning, naval architecture, and marine officers. The main services also encompassed maritime vessels (ownership transfer, renewal, and registration), as well as foreign vessels engaged in operations in Qatari waters (data modification and renewal).
The maritime transport sector is committed to developing and modernizing the industry in line with the strategic plans of the Ministry of Transport. The objective is to ensure safe maritime navigation that meets all safety requirements and obligations, while keeping up with international maritime developments through creative and effective implementation of international maritime regulations and staying abreast of emerging trends and the latest publications.
