3,000 QR per month and a “laptop”.. Qatar University’s Talent Sponsorship Program explained

Mr. Ali Bukamal, a guidance and counseling specialist at Qatar University’s Admissions Department, said the Talent Sponsorship Program was designed to attract and nurture gifted applicants in the fields of scientific research, technology, innovation, literature, art, media, and sports

 “As for the most prominent features the university provides to those enrolled in the program the university sponsors the talented student throughout their study period by providing a monthly salary of 3,000 QR, and a laptop.” Bukamal said during his interview at Taraheeb program on Al-Rayyan TV.

The university will also create an appropriate nurturing environment for students and encourage them to practice their talents while studying.

“Before joining the program, a private interview will be held for the talented student, and he/she must provide two letters of recommendation from people who worked with him/her in the field of his/her talent, the student should prepare a complete file that includes the CV, achievements, successes and distinguished figures that have been achieved, both either in paper or in a video,” Bukamal explained.

Qatar University had confirmed that the final decision to accept students in the Talent Sponsorship program for Qatari students will be announced on August 21.

أكد السيد علي بوكمال أخصائي إرشاد وتوجيه بإدارة القبول في جامعة قطر، أن برنامج رعاية الموهوبين صُمم بهدف استقطاب ورعاية المتقدمين الموهوبين في مجالات البحث العلمي والتكنولوجيا والابتكار والأدب والفن والإعلام والرياضة.

وحول أبرز الميزات التي توفرها الجامعة للملتحقين بالبرنامج، قال بوكمال خلال استضافته في برنامج تراحيب على قناة الريان: “تقوم الجامعة برعاية الطالب الموهوب طوال فترة الدراسة عبر توفير راتب شهري يبلغ 3 آلاف ريال، وكمبيوتر محمول “لاب توب”، كما ستعمل الجامعة على تهيئة البيئة الخصبة المناسبة للطالب وتشجيعه على ممارسة موهبته وتطويرها أثناء الدراسة.

وحول تفاصيل المقابلة الشخصية والمتطلبات، قال بوكمال: قبل الالتحاق بالبرنامج سيتم عقد مقابلة خاصة للطالب الموهوب، وعليه أن يوفر رسالتي توصية من أشخاص عملوا معه في مجال موهوبته، وتجهيز ملف كامل يتضمن السيرة الذاتية والإنجازات والنجاحات والأرقام المميزة التي تم تحقيقها سواء على شكل ملفات ورقية أو فيديوهات.

وكانت جامعة قطر قد أكدت أنه سيتم الإعلان عن القرارات النهائية لقبول الطلبة في برامج رعاية الموهوبين للطلاب القطريين في 21 أغسطس المقبل.
