Doha: The Qatar University Library, in cooperation with the Lusail Publishing and Distribution House, is organizing the Virtual Book Fair 2021 during the period from March 28, 2021 to April 1,2021, with the participation of more than 300 publishing houses from inside and outside Qatar.
The fair comes in the desire of the University Library and the Lusail Publishing and Distribution House to support education and spread culture among members of society by all available means, and an emphasis on the importance of knowledge, science, and the necessity Work to publish them despite the challenges represented by the Corona pandemic.
The exhibition is a vivid example of the technological and digital development that the world has reached, which facilitates access to information and resources innovatively.
The exhibition will be open around the clock and features a two-dimensional and three-dimensional design to display and sell books that suit all age groups and interests. Lusail Publishing and Distribution House will deliver the books to buyers.
This modern display technology enables visitors to view book summaries by visiting the publishing houses available on the virtual platform, which number 300 publishing houses from inside and outside Qatar. Virtual exhibition visitors will be able to search for and select books according to categories, names of publishing houses, desired languages, and other sorting and selection processes. The exhibition will also witness the display of more than 20,000 free digital books.
The exhibition also includes several digital seminars, including a seminar by a group of writers and thinkers, dealing with many cultural and intellectual issues.

الدوحة: تنظم مكتبة جامعة قطر معرض الكتاب الافتراضي 2021، وذلك خلال الفترة من 28 مارس إلى الأول من أبريل المقبلين، بالتعاون مع دار /لوسيل/ للنشر والتوزيع وبمشاركة أكثر من 300 دار نشر من داخل قطر وخارجها.
ويأتي المعرض سعيا من جامعة قطر ودار /لوسيل/ لدعم التعليم ونشر الثقافة بين أفراد المجتمع بكل السبل المتاحة، وتأكيدا على أهمية المعرفة والعلم وضرورة العمل على نشرهما رغم التحديات، المتمثلة في جائحة كورونا.
ويعد المعرض مثالا حيا على التطور التكنولوجي والرقمي الذي توصل إليه العالم، والذي يسهل الوصول للمعلومات والمصادر بطريقة مبتكرة.
ويتميز المعرض الذي سيكون مفتوحا على مدار الساعة، بتصميم ثنائي وثلاثي الأبعاد لعرض وبيع الكتب التي تناسب كافة الفئات العمرية وتلبي كافة الاهتمامات، حيث تتولى دار /لوسيل/ للنشر والتوزيع توصيل الكتب للمشترين.
وتتيح تقنية العرض الحديثة للزوار إمكانية الاطلاع على ملخصات الكتب من خلال زيارة دور النشر المتاحة على المنصة الافتراضية والتي يبلغ عددها ثلاثمائة دار نشر، إلى جانب خاصية البحث عن الكتب واختيارها وفقا للتصنيفات وأسماء دور النشر، واللغات المطلوبة وغيرها من عمليات الفرز والاختيار.. كما سيتيح المعرض طرح أكثر من 20 ألف عنوان كتاب رقمي مجاني.
وتتضمن فعاليات المعرض عددا من الندوات الرقمية تقدمها نخبة من الكتاب والمفكرين وتتناول عددا من قضايا الشأن الثقافي والفكري.
