«قطر للبترول» تستكشف النفط قبالة سواحل البرازيل
DOHA: Qatar Petroleum has won exploration rights in four offshore blocks in Brazil, as part of two bidding consortia.
The winning bids were announced by Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas, and Biofuels (ANP) at a public bidding session held yesterday in Rio de Janeiro. Competing bids were submitted to the ANP and the winners were announced throughout the course of public session.
We are pleased with the outcome of the bid round, which has enabled an expansion of our footprint in Brazil, in one of the most prospective basins in the world. This successful result is the second in six months, and constitutes an important achievement in executing our strategy of creating a large scale, value-adding international portfolio, while pursuing Latin America as an important core area for Qatar Petroleum,” said Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, the President & CEO of Qatar Petroleum.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Brazilian authorities for promoting a transparent and efficient process, and our consortia partners Petrobras and ExxonMobil for excellent collaboration on this opportunity. We look forward to working with our partners to create long-term, sustainable economic value for the project stakeholders,” Al Kaabi concluded.
The exploration blocks were offered as part of the Brazil Exploration Bid Round 15, which covered 70 blocks across a wide range of geological basins of which the key areas of interest to QP were the proven, prolific Santos and Campos basins.
Qatar Petroleum won the exploration rights for blocks 789 and 753 in the Campos basin as part of a consortium comprising affiliates of ExxonMobil (Operator with a 40 percent interest), Petrobras (30 percent interest), and Qatar Petroleum (30 percent interest).
Qatar Petroleum also won the exploration rights for blocks 536 and 647 in the Santos basin as part of a consortium comprising affiliates of ExxonMobil (Operator with a 64 percent interest), and Qatar Petroleum (36 percent interest).
The relevant legal agreements, including the concession agreements, are expected to be signed between the Brazilian authorities and the consortia members by November this year.
This is the second winning Qatar Petroleum bid in Brazil. In October 2017, Qatar Petroleum was part of a winning consortium with Shell, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation for exploration in the Alto de Cabo Frio-Oeste block in the prolific Santos hydrocarbon basin offshore Brazil.
The block was offered as part of Brazil’s 3rd production sharing bidding round, which covered 4 blocks located in the “pre-salt polygon” region in the Santos and Campos basins: Pau Brasil, Peroba, Alto de Cabo Frio-Oeste, and Alto de Cabo Frio-Central.
فازت «قطر للبترول» ضمن تحالفين عالميين بحقوق الاستكشاف لأربع مناطق في المياه العميقة المقابلة للسواحل البرازيلية.
وقد أعلنت الوكالة البرازيلية الوطنية للبترول والغاز الطبيعي والوقود الحيوي العروض الفائزة خلال جلسة عامة لفض العطاءات عقدتها أمس في مدينة ريو دي جانيرو، حيث قدمت الشركات المشاركة عروضها لمناطق الاستكشاف المعروضة، وتم الإعلان عن الفائز بكل منطقة بعد فتح العطاءات خلال الجلسة نفسها.
وكانت البرازيل قد أجرت الجولة الخامسة عشرة من طلبات العروض لاستكشاف 70 منطقة في عدد من الأحواض في المياه العميقة، حيث تركز اهتمام قطر للبترول في حوضي سانتوس وكامبوس المعروفين باحتياطيات هيدروكربونية.
وقد فازت قطر للبترول بحقوق الاستكشاف في المناطق البحرية 789 و753 في حوض كامبوس، وذلك من خلال تحالفها مع شركة إكسون موبيل (المشغّل بحصة 40 %) وشركة بتروبراس (بحصة 30 %) وقطر للبترول (بحصة 30 %). كما فازت قطر للبترول بحقوق الاستكشاف في المناطق البحرية 536 و647 في حوض سانتوس، وذلك من خلال تحالفها مع شركة إكسون موبيل (المشغّل بحصة 64 %) وقطر للبترول (بحصة 36 %).
توسع
وفي معرض تعليقه على النتائج قال المهندس سعد بن شريده الكعبي، العضو المنتدب والرئيس التنفيذي لقطر للبترول: «نحن سعيدون بفوز عروضنا في هذه الجولة، والتي ستساهم بتوسع نشاطنا في البرازيل وفي واحدة من أكثر المناطق الهيدروكربونية الواعدة في العالم. هذا هو النجاح الثاني في البرازيل في غضون ستة أشهر، وهو يشكل إنجازاً مهماً على طريق تنفيذ استراتيجيتنا للتوسع عالمياً في نشاطات واسعة النطاق وذات قيمة مضافة، مع المحافظة على أميركا اللاتينية على قائمة الاهتمامات الرئيسة لقطر للبترول».
وأضاف المهندس الكعبي: «أود أن أغتنم هذه الفرصة لأشكر السلطات البرازيلية على إدارتها لعملية تنافسية شفافة وفعّالة، وأن أشكر شركاءنا في التحالفين إكسون موبيل وبتروبراس على تعاونهما المثالي في هذه الفرصة. نتطلع إلى العمل مع شركائنا لتحقيق قيمة اقتصادية مستدامة وطويلة الأجل لجميع المعنيين في هذا المشروع».
ومن المتوقع أن يتم التوقيع على الاتفاقيات ذات الصلة، بما في ذلك اتفاقيات الامتياز بين السلطات البرازيلية وأعضاء التحالف في شهر نوفمبر المقبل.
إنجاز
يذكر أن هذا هو الفوز الثاني من نوعه لعروض قطر للبترول للاستكشاف في البرازيل. ففي أكتوبر 2017، فاز تحالف عالمي يضم كلاً من قطر للبترول وشركة شل وشركة النفط البحرية الوطنية الصينية بعقد للاستكشاف ومشاركة بالإنتاج في قطاع «ألتو دي كابو فريو-أويستي»، الواقع في حوض سانتوس في المياه العميقة المقابلة للسواحل البرازيلية. وكان القطاع واحداً من أربع مناطق عرضتها البرازيل في الجولة الثالثة من طلب العروض للاستكشاف في حوضي سانتوس وكامبوس في المياه العميقة، والتي تضمنت مناطق «باو برازيل» و«بيروبا» و«ألتو دي كابو فريو-سنترال».
