SC participates in all sporting events in Qatar to promote 2022 Cup: Al Khater

Doha: The Chief Executive Officer of the 2022 World Cup, Nasser Al Khater, said that the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) is participating in all the international tournaments and events held in Qatar to promote the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Speaking at a press conference at Commercial Bank Qatar Masters’ 22nd edition, Al Khater said that Qatar is set to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, and now it is less than four years to host this big event, and the committee is trying to benefit from all events to promote Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Al Khater pointed out that their participation in Qatar Masters golf tournament came through the presentation of models of the stadiums in order to present to participants what the Committee is doing in preparation for the World Cup 2022.

Al Khater added that Qatar Masters golf tournament is one of the most famous tournaments in the world, and it attracts about 400 million viewers around the world.

Each year it hosts the world’s top golfers and there is a trend from Qatar Golf Association to intensify participation in the coming years.

Al Khater also explained that SC is working with all Qatari Associations in various sports in order to promote the World Cup by taking advantage of the tournaments, adding that the participation in the current edition of the Qatar Masters was a coincidence and there was no direct link to the World Cup in 2022.

أكد السيد ناصر الخاطر، الرئيس التنفيذي لبطولة كأس العالم فيفا قطر 2022، أن اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث تشارك في جميع البطولات والفعاليات العالمية التي تقام على أرض قطر من أجل الترويج لكأس العالم لكرة القدم التي ستقام في قطر في العام 2022.

وقال الخاطر في تصريح صحفي له اليوم، خلال مشاركته في حفل تتويج الفائز بلقب بطولة البنك التجاري قطر ماسترز لمحترفي الجولف في نسختها الـ/22/ “لقد اقترب موعد استضافة قطر لكأس العالم في العام 2022 والآن تبقت أقل من أربع سنوات لاستضافة هذا الحدث الكبير لذا تحاول اللجنة استغلال كل الأحداث من أجل الترويج لكأس العالم قطر 2022″، مشيرا إلى أن مشاركتهم في بطولة قطر ماسترز للجولف جاءت من خلال عرض مجسمات للملاعب التي ستقام عليها البطولة من أجل أن يتعرف المشاركون في هذه البطولة على ما تقوم به اللجنة في إطار إعدادها لكأس العالم 2022.

وأضاف أن بطولة قطر ماسترز للجولف من البطولات المشهورة في العالم وتحظى بمشاهدة ما يقارب 400 مليون مشاهد حول العالم، وتستضيف في كل عام أبرز المصنفين في الجولف على مستوى العالم، وهناك اتجاه من الاتحاد القطري للجولف لتكثيف مستوى المشاركة في الأعوام المقبلة.

وأوضح أن اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث تعمل مع كل الاتحادات القطرية في مختلف الرياضات من أجل الترويج لكأس العالم وذلك بالاستفادة من البطولات، موضحا أن مشاركتنا بالنسخة الحالية رقم 22 من بطولة قطر ماسترز جاء صدفة ولم يكن هناك ارتباط مباشر ببطولة كأس العالم التي ستقام في العام 2022.
