Qatar Continues Strategic Plans towards Knowledge-Economy

Doha: Qatari newspaper Al-Raya underlined Saturday that the State of Qatar continues its national strategic plans to transform into a knowledge economy based on comprehensive development.

In its editorial, Al-Raya said that the State of Qatar has made qualitative leaps in building and developing the information and communication technology sector and the digital transformation, as well as supporting and encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

Al-Raya highlighted the Second National Development Strategy (2018-2022) which clearly identifies the need to focus on knowledge and innovation as one of the most important factors in achieving economic diversification.

Meanwhile, Qatar National Artificial Intelligence Strategy is based on six pillars: education, access to data, employment, business, research and ethics. The strategy aims to produce world-class AI applications in areas of interest at the national level, and to have business environment that enables AI as a driver of innovation, the paper added.

Al-Raya indicated that Qatar’s leading position in the Digital Accessibility Rights Evaluation (DARE) Index for 2022 issued by the Global Initiative for Inclusive Information and Communication Technologies, affirmed its global excellence in providing information technology to its people, and its tireless endeavors to build a knowledge economy based on digital empowerment, through the optimal use of the technological infrastructure to achieve sustainable development and develop the business environment and economy.

الدوحة: أكدت صحيفة /الراية/، في افتتاحيتها لعدد اليوم، أن دولة قطر ماضية في خططها الإستراتيجية الوطنية للتحول إلى اقتصاد المعرفة القائم على التنمية الشاملة، مشددة على أن أهداف وطموحات دولة قطر لا تعرف المستحيل، إذ أنها تعمل على توطين التكنولوجيا وجعلها في متناول الجميع، حيث حققت قفزات نوعية في بناء وتطوير قطاع تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات، والتحول الرقمي، كما أنها تدعم وتشجع الابتكار وروح الريادة.

واستندت /الراية/ على استراتيجية التنمية الوطنية الثانية (2018-2022) التي حددت بوضوح ضرورة التركيز على المعرفة والابتكار كأحد أهم العوامل الرئيسية للوصول إلى التنويع الاقتصادي.. منوهة إلى أن قطر من بين الدول المؤهلة بشكل كبير للاستفادة من تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي استنادًا للرؤى الإستراتيجية الداعمة لهذه التقنيات.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن استراتيجية قطر الوطنية للذكاء الاصطناعي ترتكز على ست ركائز هي: التعليم، والوصول إلى البيانات، والعمالة، والأعمال التجارية، والبحوث، والأخلاقيات، حيث تهدف لإنتاج تطبيقات ذكاء اصطناعي عالمية الطراز في المجالات التي تحظى بالاهتمام على الصعيد الوطني، وأن تتمتع ببيئة أعمال تتيح استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي باعتباره محركًا للابتكار.

وأوضحت /الراية/ إلى أن تصدر قطر مؤشر تقييم حقوق النفاذ الرقمي لعام 2020 الصادر عن المبادرة العالمية لتكنولوجيات المعلومات والاتصالات الشاملة، يعكس تميزها عالميًا في توفير تكنولوجيا المعلومات للسكان ومساعيها الدؤوبة لبناء اقتصاد معرفي قائم على التمكين الرقمي، من خلال الاستخدام الأمثل للبنية التحتية التكنولوجية لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة وتطوير بيئة الأعمال والاقتصاد، وهو بالفعل ما تتميز به قطر عربيًا وعلى المستوى العالمي.
